Freedom House - A Backpackers Hostel, Munnar

Choose For Freedom House if you want more than a volunteering spot — you want a project in the middle of nature, surrounded by a 160-acre cardamom farm, waterfalls, forest trails, and fresh mountain air. Here, you can help shape a growing hostel with your hands and ideas while enjoying a peaceful, inspiring place to live and connect with travelers from around the world.

We are a small, friendly team running For Freedom House with a focus on warmth, respect, and collaboration. We value open communication and a relaxed atmosphere, and we treat volunteers as part of the family rather than just helping hands.

You can expect to be treated with kindness, fairness, and flexibility. We like working side by side, sharing meals, exchanging ideas, and creating a space where everyone feels comfortable, supported, and appreciated.

I came in as a volunteer but now I'm a part of this hostel's crew. The place changed me a lot. The adventures, the treks, the forest, the location, the people made me not to leave this place. So, I want to be a part of this amazing experience and journey towards openness and be close to nature where you put your thoughts to freedom. We can't express some emotions cause it's way beyond my expectations.

Joshua, your words genuinely mean a lot to us.

You came as a volunteer and became part of the Freedom House family. That is exactly the kind of connection we hope to create here — through shared work, adventures, conversations and time in nature.

Thank you for your openness, energy and the spirit you brought to the community. We’re grateful our paths crossed, and Freedom House will always be a place you can come back to.
