Green & Away

No year at Green & Away is the same - because we are a temporary venue that operates only in the summer, the site may look different depending on the various events we have running that year.
The season is split into different phases: set-up, events phase and take-down so the work is always varied. There are plenty of opportunities to get involved in all aspects of the camp and even join in on events and educational talks and workshops.
One of the best things about G&A is the close-knit community that forms from new and returning volunteers from all walks of life.

We don't have any formal staff - everyone who helps run Green & Away is a volunteer and we're all living and working together during the season. There are a group of trustees who ensure responsibility of the overall project however. Volunteers have their own space to relax when not working and we have plenty of off time, day trips and opportunities to socialise and enjoy the site.

It was a really enriching experience, I met nice people, I was able to practice the English language, I feel very fortunate to have lived the green & away experience.

Green & Away is truly a special place, when you're there you get immersed into its own world, with its own atmosphere. It's easy to forget about the "outside world".

The team is great, they let you contribute with what you know, and encourage you to try new things. Beyond that, the work is very fulfilling!

I can honestly say that I have learned so much in such a short amount of time.

I can see why so many volunteers go back, and it looks like now I'm one of them!

Green & Away was my first volunteer, and it was incredible!

It is a beautiful experience, you know people from all over the world, the tasks and jobs are fun, the place is very nice and spacious and the food is delicious, I learned a lot about sustainability and how small details can make a difference.

I am very grateful for the opportunity, without a doubt a place that I would like to return next year.

I had a really great time volunteering here and met so many amazing people from all over the world. It's a large team of volunteers that is like one big family and made me feel very welcome even though I joined the season late.

G&A has changed my life, I love this place!
It was my first camping, I volunteered for 40 days and it was sad to leave this place.

G&A is not just a summer camp, G&A is about love, about self-care, healthy eating, friendships, connecting with nature and yourself. It's like a re-educational retreat for us human beings who belong to nature.

Ps: If you don't like to live in the countryside, it can be a bit challenging, but anyway, it doesn't hurt to try to live this amazing experience for a few days.
I recommend it 100%. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this opportunity!
