Happy Hammocks

We're a global team which thrives as a family and we see this as a chance to connect, learn, and grow together with people from all corners of the world. You'll find a multitude of learnings about surfing and the general sri lankan culture.

We organize group surf sessions, family dinners, street dog feeding sessions, beach volleyball, various workshops which serve to connect with our team, fellow travelers, and the local community. You'll also join in our hosted tours, pool/beer pong tournaments, fun night outs and even yoga or ice baths.

We hope to gain more exposure to different cultures and expand our perspective as much as we can by having you work with us. We strive to create a truly open minded, inclusive experience for backpackers and would love to have you onboard.

Our full-time team is comprised of mostly locals and manages the regular operations of the hostel. The team of volunteers is responsible for creating the social and inclusive environment we're known for and helping the management team expand the offerings.

The hostel is like a shared house vibe and we maintain that vibe in the team as well, working like a family and going beyond our defined roles to help each other. The volunteers will be one of us and almost certain to make lifelong friendships and shed some tears when they leave.
