HOSTEL CASAMAR MARACA

Because here you don't come just to sleep, you come to live Maracaípe in a lighter, more authentic and local way.

Casamar Maraca is a small, independent lodging run by people who truly live this place. We're close to the sea, in a quiet area, but with easy access to the beach, surfing, bars, sunset and the life that happens around here. It's the kind of place where it's easy to arrive alone and, a few days later, already meet people to share a beer, a conversation or a night out.

We are a hostel for those who like to travel without too much formality: backpackers, solo travelers, nomads, couples and curious people who prefer real experiences to rigid itineraries.

Besides hosting, we also live by creating, cooking, welcoming, and sharing. So, those who arrive here end up getting to know not only the house, but a little of our routine, of flavors, of stories and of the people who make Maracaípe be Maracaípe.

If you're looking for a five-star place, maybe we're not the right choice. But if you're looking for five minutes from the beach, good people, good conversations, freedom, simplicity and a more authentic experience, maybe you have just found your home in Maracaípe.

And that's exactly what we want to offer our volunteers: not just a work-for-housing exchange, but an opportunity to truly know a place, to create connections and to carry a little piece of Maracaípe with you.

We're a small team, and perhaps that's precisely our edge. Casamar Maraca is run closely by us, so anyone arriving for an exchange doesn't get lost in the middle of a big team or follow orders from someone who barely knows the place.

We like to welcome real people, talk, swap experiences and get to know the stories of those who pass by here. Many of our guests are travelers, backpackers and people who are discovering new places, so we understand well that spirit of someone on the road.

Our Worldpackers will be treated as part of the house: with respect, transparency, freedom and space to be who they are. At the same time, we expect responsibility, commitment to the agreed tasks and care for the space and for the guests.

We believe a good exchange needs to work for both sides. We don't want someone here just “putting in hours”, just as we don't expect the person to be available all the time. The idea is to organize tasks well so that the Worldpacker has free time to get to know Maracaípe, enjoy the beach, do their outings and live the experience they came to seek.

In day to day, we are quite open to dialogue. If something isn't working, we prefer to talk and resolve. If you have an idea to improve something, we want to hear. And if you want to share a recipe, a song, a travel story or simply sit down to have a coffee and chat, even better.

Here, work and travel can coexist, and we believe that the best exchange happens precisely when there is respect, trust and willingness to share.

Jim and Mary were incredibly amazing; it had been a while since I felt so at home, volunteering was super light, tasks were very easy, they make you feel completely at ease, they are very helpful and supportive, super interactive and, within their possibilities, very flexible, a true volunteering proposal where there is no overload of responsibilities not shared. Gratitude, my road family, I hope this friendship blossoms even more.

Nicole, in a volunteer setting you have to do what you volunteered to do. Whoever is sick won't go to other places to have fun, as you did on your trip to Olinda, and we were, in fact, very accommodating about that. Another issue is that you spent HOURS trying to fix a bed, so those who had the bad experience, in the end it was us. We don't need to be friends or even cordial with volunteers. Volunteers need to do what the position requires.
