Joe Backpackers

We located in a unique area "Labor's area" in Tokyo, where people with distinctive personalities live. You can see a different side of Tokyo here.

In addition, the Sanja Festival is held in May, and the Sumida River Fireworks Festival is held in July. During the Sanja Festival, a portable shrine is carried down the road in front of the guesthouse.

All of my staff and I have traveled around the world as backpackers. Sometimes we eat dinner together in the living room and drink alcohol at night.
When you're not working, you can go out and have fun, try something new, or just relax at the inn. Please feel free to spend your time however you like.

Thank you so much for the wonderful experience ! I felt very welcome ☺️. Everything promised in the profile was delivered. I had a lot of fun during my stay and also had enough time after work to see more of Tokyo on my own. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone.

I had a wonderful month at the guest house and I can highly recommend this place! 🙌🏻 Kentaro and Marvin create such a relaxed and welcoming, family like atmosphere. The work itself is very simple, and having a private room during your stay makes the whole experience even more comfortable! I highly recommend staying here, and I hope to see you again someday! 👋🏻

You will have a private room, which for me is the strongest point of the accommodation. The work is simple and if you finish the tasks early, you finish the shift. The kitchen can be small, but nothing you can't manage by coordinating with the rest of the volunteers. Kentaro is a very friendly person, he even organizes Takoyaki Parties!

The neighborhood is modest, but Minami-Senju Station is no more than a 10-minute walk away and there is a large shopping area called Lala Terrace that has a sushi chain, Uniqlo, Mister Donut…

I will probably return to this volunteer program. Thanks for everything!

The experience with the other volunteers was incredible and the facilities were fine.
However, there is a non-volunteer worker who made the experience for me and my other teammates more difficult, going so far as to exclude us, yelling at us, and making us feel uncomfortable. That same worker is racist4 and excluded all of us except the white-skinned ones, which were very uncomfortable and unpleasant.

My experience at the guest house with Kentaro was amazing. Kentaro and the entire staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and always willing to help. The tasks were fair and never overwhelming, which made working there really enjoyable. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly, and it was a lot of fun working with everyone. We also had plenty of free time, could use the kitchen freely, and the location was perfect—you can reach almost anywhere in Tokyo within about an hour. I couldn't have asked for a better volunteering experience. Highly recommended!😊
