Zambians are genuinely super friendly people and you will be well taken care of by the staff! We hope that everyone will feel at home immediately; guests and volunteers. Zambia is also one of the safest countries in Africa and tied with the United Kingdom in 41st place on the Global Peace Index. The US Department of State ranks Zambia 1st place as the "Safest Countries to Visit in 2019". By volunteering at Jollyboys Backpackers, you become an integral part of the team. You will be expected to be self-motivated and have a good work ethic, despite being a volunteer. We are a professional operation and expect a high standard from our staff and volunteers: you get out, what you put in! Volunteers will be given various projects depending on what they LIKE to do ...! We are very flexible, there is always something fun or creative to do ... we like to keep our guests entertained in-house, so anyone with a flair for games, quizzes and general merriment is always welcome! We especially love it when volunteers are enthusiastic about training and bettering the skills of our Zambian employees; customer service, responsible tourism etc. We hope that everyone that stays with us feels free and easy to give us feedback on how we can improve the traveler and volunteer experience.
