La Casa Colorada

Hello we are two French people and we have a small hostal close to Flores.

We also propose our service as restaurant and tour operator.

Once a week we organize with the children of the neighborhood a cleaning of the trashes in the streets and then we invite them to eat a cake and to learn some French or English.

This activity is totally free for them
We are located close to the beach and the lake side.

This is more than just a volunteering experience β€” it’s a chance to live by a lake, learn about local life, and contribute to something meaningful. You’ll meet travelers and locals alike, enjoy creative freedom, and be part of a fun, international atmosphere.

I enjoyed my time at the guest house. Most of my work was cleaning and housekeeping, which I was not expecting. I would have loved to have helped more with the non-profit and community, but was happy to support and help out where needed. Janesca and Alexis are extremely kind people and they truly care about the community and are trying to create positive change!

My stay at the guest house was great. Thanks to the activities offered, to the advice of Alexis and Janesca, and to neighborhood life, in addition to feeling at home, I felt like a resident of the San Benito neighborhood. It's a volunteering program that allows you to meet travelers from around the world as well as neighbors, while contributing to the development of the neighborhood. If you are flexible and ready to lend a hand in various tasks (welcoming clients, cooking, construction & DIY, education...), I recommend the guest house!πŸ₯°β›±οΈ

We had a good stay overall. The hosts were incredibly kind, and you could clearly feel their passion for the place. The work tasks were enjoyable and gave plenty of opportunity to be creative during the day, and we appreciated that our wishes were listened to.

However, the sleeping arrangement was not as expected, as it turned out to be a loft without privacy. We also would have preferred clearer communication, especially upon arrival.
