La Masia Alt Penedes

We offer volunteers the opportunity to be within easy reach to the small town charm of Spain but completely immersed in nature and only 1 hour from Barcelona city.

We are a husband and wife running a rural tourism venue at our 17th century masia. We have three lovely dogs we like to take on long strolls through the vineyards. We enjoy the simple pleasures of country living, open fires, home cooking and most of all the peace and quiet with a sprinkle of birdsong.

La Masia is a beautiful place to disconnect, connect with nature, and learn new skills.
Sophie and Michel are excellent hosts; they patiently explained the tasks to us and taught us about the local culture.
The best part of all was going for walks with Paco and Lady.
We highly recommend this experience.

We had a lovely days. Sophie and Michel are wonderful people. As well as helping us with our daily activities, they allowed us to relax and unwind. They took us on walks, told us about the local culture, and we had a really enjoyable time. Paco and Lady stole our hearts (although Lady is a bit of a loner 😂) We'd definitely recommend this experience! We hope to return one day .

Our experience was great, the place is beautiful and from the beginning we were very well received, the accommodation is private and very spacious, and we were provided with top-quality food to prepare. The work was easy, we walked every day with Paco, the house dog, and afterwards we focused our energy in the garden. The property is far from the city, but there is public transport if you're willing to walk to the bus stop. I recommend it for anyone who wants a time to connect with nature and rest from the big cities. Thank you Sophie and Michael!

My stay here was really great. The place is absolutely beautiful, and the tasks are easy. Basically, we helped with maintaining the property, walking the dogs, and taking care of a few things around the house. The host was very communicative, and whenever we had any questions, she was always there to help. We are very grateful to Sofia and Michael for welcoming us and making us feel so comfortable. Thank you so much for having us and for making our stay such a wonderful experience! I'm definitely going to miss Paco and Ladie as well

Overall, we had a good stay and really enjoyed the beautiful the guest house. The tasks were well balanced: not too intense, but also not boring. There were a few inconveniences, though. Pick-up was mentioned as included, and after agreeing on a time, the host cancelled while we were already on our way, which was quite inconvenient. At times, we also felt some mistrust regarding our work and would have appreciated clearer guidance and expectations. Despite this, we enjoyed our stay and the surroundings.

I did go to pick you up but you were going to arrive 2 hours later due to taking the wrong transport. That would have meant I was to wait 2 hours in 35 degree heat with a car full of groceries for your stay. I think anyone would see that as an unreasonable request. Sorry to hear Tibo you felt mistrusted in your work. As I explained on the first day all hoses must be turned off after use, because they burst under pressure if left on. I had to replace two hoses due to them being left on.
