La Toma Del Agua

Are you an English speaker or native? Do you like being surrounded by nature? Would you like to help students from 8 to 16 year-olds to improve their English level?

We are a friendly company that runs immersion camps in English, we are located in an amazing place surrounded by nature. Our camp is situated 8 minutes away by car from Riopar, a village near Albacete (Spain).

These English immersion camps are programs that welcome groups of students from all over Spain. We look after them for five days (from Monday to Friday) and encourage them to improve their English through fun and active classes. This also includes physical outdoor activities, gymkanas and excursions led by bilingual and natives teachers. It’s a really fun place with friendly people, where you won't get bored at all.

We are looking for someone who can help our students, guiding them and helping them to improve their English.
We offer accommodation shared with our lovely team and full board (5 meals).
We can also provide special meals for people that have food alergias, intolarances, vegetarian...and so on.
There are bicycles in which you can use if you want to stroll along the área or even head to town.
We have people who go to town often so you can catch a lift if needed.

Volunteers help for 6 hours a day from Monday to Thursday. Mainly, you will support our team during those moments when we have to control the students in their free time, avoiding potential problems and playing with them while you push them to speak in English as much as possible. Our students are from Spain and they come with the idea to immerse themselves in the English language. In the case where you are present in an activity, your duty would be to support and supervise the students but not run the game.

During the weekends you can stay in our facility or travel as you please. Public transport from Riopar is quite poor but most of the weekends some staff goes mainly to Madrid or Murcia and they can give you a lift in case you want to visit different areas of Spain. There are lots of thing you can do nearby during the weekend or even in your free time during the week. We offer access to facilities such us the multi-adventure areas; archery, climbing, zipline…, use of our court, sport materials, lots of trekking with incredible views and of course, you can visit the main attractions in Riopar; Riomundo (the birth of a river) & the old Riopar town, which is on top of a mountain. Our team tends to stay in the facility during the weekends so you can enjoy you time with us also. Normally, we are a team of 12 people. We range from 18 to 35 years olds.

As we are in the middle of nature, there is no phone service inside the facility but you can find signal at the entrance. Furthermore, our wifi service is very efficient.
There is a tiny river that crosses our facility and three lakes nearby. One is a natural swimming pool with a zipline over it.

I had the most amazing 5 weeks at the camping and loved every minute. From the moment I arrived the team was welcoming and friendly. The volunteer hours were respected and the accomodation was great. The volunteer activities were super fun and the whole team are so supportive. I wish I could have stayed longer! And will definitely be returning in the future. The best bunch of people I've met and I miss the team already. Would 100% recommend volunteering here.

I volunteered at the camping for three weeks in April, and it was one of the most incredible and fun experiences I've ever had! The people are kind and welcoming, the work is well organised, and I truly enjoyed every moment. The environment is absolutely beautiful, and being surrounded by nature and animals made the experience even more special. I'm so grateful for this time! I've made unforgettable memories and friendships for life, and I can't wait to come back! 🦎☀️⛰️

The work with the kids is an amazing opportunity to have an impact and improve your own English and the English of the kids. Furthermore all the outdoor activities are a really nice chance for the kids to try something new and overcome their fears. The whole team in general was really welcoming and made it really easy to feel like I belonged and to work together as a team. Obviously there were still some things to improve like the housing of the volunteers but I would still recommend it to da volunteer there if you like working with kids in the nature :)

Volunteering at the camping was an amazing experience, I couldn't have asked for a better first volunteer experience. The staff were super welcoming and the atmosphere at the camp was really positive and fun. The activities are easy to get involved with and enjoyable, and there's a good amount of free time during the day as well. I met some amazing people and had a really great time overall. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone thinking about volunteering at a camp in Spain. There is a good chance I will be back.

Callum was an incredible asset to the team. He was quick to adapt to the team and the activities, participating in everything with great eagerness. He is an extremely flexible, positive, and helpful person; he would frequently offer help outside of what was asked of him. He is also extremely patient and friendly, and he was dearly loved by both the campers and the staff.
Sorry for the late review. And thanks again.

I had the most amazing time at this place, I highly recommend going, it has been my favourite volunteer spot so far! The team is amazing and the work is very nice, most of the time it didn't even feel like work. The weekends are super fun but keep in mind that some people may leave so it can be very quiet, the upside is there will be enough places which they will be able to pick you up or bring you to see another city. Overall a great place to volunteer!
