Le Chai de Marguerite

Its a great place to get a sense of rural France. Its very quiet here ! There is a tiny local bar. There are things to do in the villages in the evenings in the summer so volunteers would definitely benefit from having their own transport.

I run this project on my own so there are no other staff. Friends and family sometimes come to help out. I prepare meals and eat together with volunteers and really enjoy the cultural exchange aspect of hosting. I am currently looking for people - ideally 2 - to give me a hand for the next couple of weeks (till 24 June). I have been away recently and response rates have dropped ! If you are interested, please reach out and I will be in touch very shortly.

This was an incredible trip. Rebecca is extremely kind, knowledgeable, and generous and it was a pleasure to get to know her and work on this project. The tasks asked of us were very reasonable and clear, and it was fun to see the improvement we made in the garden. The times we agreed upon were honoured, and Rebecca was was very flexible with us. The accommodations were very beautiful, as well as the entire house, and we got to learn a lot about local and French culture. I would recommend this to anyone looking to explore rural areas, take things calm, and get their hands a little dirty.

I had an incredible experience at Le Chai de Marguerite. I worked alongside another woman my age helping the garden of the bed and breakfast. Our tasks varied from day to day but Rebecca was always very clear about what she wanted us to accomplish. We spent our mornings and then had the rest of the day to ourselves. We ate our meals together, and when there was time we took day trips to neighboring villages. Rebecca was a wonderful host and I really enjoyed the time I spent working with her and in this area of France.

This was my first Worldpackers experience, so I went in with an open mind and a sense of adventure. Rebecca was such a fun, positive and engaging host and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. I enjoyed the flexible approach to work, where each morning we took on different tasks in the garden and would work on them at a sustainable pace until around lunchtime. It was rewarding to see how the garden progressed. I really appreciated the opportunities to explore some nearby villages that Rebecca kindly facilitated when time allowed. Definitely recommend this experience to others!

I had such a lovely stay! This was my first worldpackers experience and rebecca definitely set the standards high for future work exchanges to come. Me and another worldpacker worked in the garden during the morning until lunch. The hours were relaxed and there was a variety of tasks to ensure that we wouldn’t get bored. Rebecca was always open to answer any possible questions and help us out if needed. In the afternoon we would either sunbathe in the garden or visit other villages together. Those were great opportunities to get to know each other better just like the delicious shared meals :)

We had the absolute best time with Rebecca!!! Our days there were so special. I was there with my friend for a week and we were welcomed with so much care and open heartedness. Rebecca made us feel at home at the most extraordinary and kind way. The work was easy, but specially it was fun! She made sure we were always feeling good, and enjoying the process of making the garden. We had a lot of free time to go out by ourselves and explore the nature, and also Rebecca toke us to a lot of beautifull places around, so we could see them. If you think about coming, don't hesitate! Thank you<3
