LHA Belvedere House

Not only are we located at the heart of London but we are very close to all the most famous tourist sites and they are all within a walking distance from each other. You will get to explore London without the hassle of travel. With fourteen hostels across the city, it is the perfect place to start your new adventure.
For 80 years, we have provided young people and students long-term, co-living accommodation they love, and can afford. Here, you can familiarise yourself, socialise and decide whether or not to make London your permanent home.

The staff are very friendly and hospitable, you wont feel lost have a diverse team from all corners of the world, always ready to welcome you and ensure you are part of the our family. Foram ótimos os dias que passei na Belvedere House ! As horas trabalhadas são super respeitadas , e não é um trabalho pesado! A única questão é que o café da manhã é o jantar fica em outra unidade e para chegar lá temos que andar 30 minutos aproximadamente , porém , as 20 libras semanais para fazer o mercado ajuda bastante também! Os quartos de voluntários são super confortáveis também.

This is my first in UK, before this I was volunteered in Italy. The residents here are long term tenants. It’s the best platform to learn the whole cycle of hostel operation. Mariela helped me to adjust my off day, when my bf was arriving from Sicily to London. Mariela also help to changed my duty 3-7pm when I have morning part time. The food was abundance, but it 2.25km away so I took bus. Belvedere has no common area, alternatively, I bought picnic blanket £8 to stay in park. We also created a whatsapp group with a few guests, to plan some activity. It was fun! Tqvm to Mariela!!

The experience was very nice!

But somethings you need to know before you go: There's no equipment in the woman's volunteer kitchen. There's no fork, knives, plates. For eat the food that is provide you need to cross the Kensington park, is about 30 minutes everyday.

They give you 20 bucks to buy your food, so is nice, you can buy stuff for breakfast, lunch and do the dinner in the other place.

Telling the truth i like the experience. When you know what you want in London, is easy to not complain.

The time I spent at Belvedere House was good, the people were very kind, the work is sometimes a little tiring, but time was always respected and very flexible, my only complaint is that the TV area was closed, which made it difficult have some moments of conviviality. I would especially like to thank Mariela and Csaba as they were very kind, I loved the time I stayed, there are many museums around and very close to the parks and supermarkets.

Foi meu primeiro voluntariado, assim como a 1ª vez em um país de língua inglesa e, claro, é importante frisar que essa review parte de uma análise estritamente pessoal.

+ localização; apoio na alimentação (Tesco+refeições no LHA);

- Não há espaço para socializar (a TV room estava lacrada); no meu quarto haviam 2 brasileiras, o que dificultou o propósito da minha viagem (idioma);

A melhorar: incentivo/motivação aos voluntários, assim como check de tasks atribuídas (alguns WP voltavam para dormir no quarto, enquanto outros trabalhavam dobrado); cozinha pequena e sem circulação de ar.
