The hostel was an experience like no other. I met incredible people, I improved my English and you learn to make do with what you have.
The team was always kind and open, willing to help with everything they can.
At first it can be a bit confusing, given that there is no clear direction of what to do at every moment.
But if you are someone proactive, you will get used to it quickly and you will treat the hostel as if it were your home.
P.S.: Whoever you are, take care of Mandarina, it is too cute and dumb for this world.
Limon will be fine, it is smarter and wilder.

Incredible experience. The Lighting House Hostel is my home and the people here are my family. I love you all. A huge thank you to Diego for that opportunity and for trusting me. I'm an Argentine woman, boludooooooo 🇦🇷❤️

I had a really good experience at this hostel in Buenos Aires! I met so many amazing people and the team was really cool and welcoming. A special thank you to Diego, the owner, for having me! The work is honestly not very difficult, but you need to be able to work independently, take initiative, and see what needs to be done without always waiting for someone to tell you what to do. Overall, it was a great experience and I\'m really grateful for the people I met there! ❤️

There is no host; it is run by volunteers. From WhatsApp everything is organized; there is no staff hired because the hostel is new, but Diego, who is the owner, only stops by for 5 minutes to grab something and leaves; on day 10 he finally came to greet me. He isn't interested in the volunteers. There was a gas leak and he minimized the situation, assuming that we are all there with total availability, even free hours to monitor the hostel. He isn’t friendly by message; he treated us as if we owed him something. He takes advantage of the volunteers' goodwill and doesn't like listening to anyone.

What a pity your total lack of empathy. You're just starting out in this and it's evident that you haven't understood anything about the idiosyncrasies of volunteering and life in hospitality. I have twenty years of experience in this. When you have personal matters to attend to, you prioritize time and needs when there are imponderables. Good luck with your studies; I hope somewhere else they also adapt the schedules, especially for your classes. I have a team that values and loves my place, and that's why they come for days and stay for months :)
