Little Logan’s Farm

Little Logan’s Farm is the first biocyclic vegan farm in the U.S.—a place where regenerative agriculture meets conscious living. Volunteers here get to learn hands-on how to grow food without harming animals, while experiencing life in the beautiful Hudson Valley. You’ll participate in meaningful work that supports sustainability, soil health, and community wellness, all while surrounded by nature, fresh air, and people who genuinely care about making a difference. It’s an inspiring place to reconnect with the earth and leave with new skills and a renewed sense of purpose.

We’re a small, welcoming team led by Frances, the founder of Vegan Wines and a passionate advocate for ethical and sustainable living. Our approach is hands-on but balanced—you’ll work, learn, laugh, and share meals together. Volunteers are treated like part of the family, with respect, clear communication, and appreciation for their contribution. We value curiosity, collaboration, and a good sense of humor. Expect an environment where your ideas are heard, your efforts matter, and your wellbeing is prioritized.

The hosts were kind, we had the opportunity to meet people from different countries and to experience an enriching cultural exchange, and we were always open and flexible to the tasks assigned. Because of work, we had to end volunteering unexpectedly. My mom was assigned to house chores and I to the farm; as for me, Erick always respected my schedule and the farming tasks were completed. My mom occasionally worked late, which we felt was outside the established hours; however we were welcomed with love, and we learned a lot.

For future hosts: It is false that I asked them to work more than 5 hours. We asked Violeta to cook, but she did not. At our event, Gloria was offered one glass of sangria at our event but helped herself to more.Their confirmed stay ended more than a week early with less than 3 hours’ notice. A man later arrived at our private property around 11 p.m. to pick them up, which made us feel unsafe. There were other concerns that cannot fit within the character limit. Please set clear expectations.

My volunteering experience at Logan's Farm was very special and memorable. During the days I was there, I was received with much affection, respect and warmth. Eric and Frances are amazing people!!! I had the opportunity to participate in daily activities, at Logan's Farm, the garden and the chicken coop, learn new skills, and live moments that I will carry in my heart forever. I highly recommend this volunteering!!! Unfortunately due to a family health emergency that led to a death, I had to leave before the end of the time scheduled on the platform.

I stayed here in March and had a mixed experience. The hosts are kind and welcoming, and I learned some new things with the chance to grow more independent over time. However, the work was more demanding than expected, with longer hours than the usual 4–5. There were also no other volunteers until the last two days which made it feel a bit isolating. My stay was also cut short by a week because the host had to travel and felt I didn’t have enough experience to their liking which was frustrating. Overall, nice people and good potential, but worth clarifying workload and expectations in advance.

Stuart,

Thank you for your feedback. As discussed, this role requires some prior experience, and since you were learning, tasks may have taken longer, which could have made the hours feel extended.
We feel we gave the opportunity a fair chance over the week and appreciated your help, especially picking up the new volunteer. We’ve since updated our profile to reflect the need for experience.

Wishing you all the best.
