Los Lyamargos
One of the ways to contribute to the consolidation of the project would be to offer the possibility of continuously being part of it, if you like, fitting and matching. Since a permacultural and holistic focus is being developed that requires ten people with permanent attention to develop the project.
Anyway, all support, even if occasional, is gratefully welcomed.
I hope it is reciprocal, and we can share with satisfaction part of our lives!
Perhaps this place is characterized by the number of hours of sunlight per year; the most virulent storms veer upstream, and long, cold and dry winters can feel heavy in those dates preceding spring.
The seasons are clearly marked, where summers are becoming increasingly torrid, and the hard winter cold shorter. As for the first, it may already begin to show soon with high temperatures and some hail. Autumns seem more unpredictable and variable.
The place itself is a contrast with the surroundings in several aspects; located at the foot of the Leónese mountain, in the northern part of the Leónese plateau, and nestled in a valley above underground water reservoirs, the town is isolated from the surroundings being the second with the largest land area in the province of León. You can enjoy a hill with supply of firewood, mushrooms, plants, water, mud... Providing forest areas, various routes, small lagoons, pine forest, oaks and much forest mass within a framework close to León and with a surrounding that is increasingly urbanized.
Nearby, to the southeast, is the Villadangos industrial park, as the nerve center of the northwest peninsula of Spain, on the road that connects and crosses the Silver Route in León with Astorga and Galicia.
And to the west, about a kilometer, it borders the Orbigo riverbed and its neighboring village Alcoba de la Ribera, with bathing area, bar and recreation (there are several recreation areas in the surrounding area).
And yet, Velilla de la Reina, as I said, maintains a certain isolation from the surroundings, given its geolocation and institutional management, forming part of the Cimanes del Tejar municipality (Orbigo river upstream to the north).
Regarding character, the León people in general are rough, descended from winters that were very cold, inclined to their homes and customs, hard to deal with if you don't know them, not very well-traveled and with closed circles. The native of Velilla de la Reina has a mountain character, proud and well-off for its natural resources (mount, field, water, mud, lands, firewood...), a reflection of that territorial isolation and its self-sufficiency and independence. Still, even if you don't intrude into their spaces, you will be able to do what you want, they will respect your spaces and your way of being, and you will be able to create very pleasant bonds of laughter, knowledge, banter and shared times. In bad times they have a bad temper and it is when they find it hard to respect group norms. In good times everything is abundance.
Right now in winter we will be living about 100 people daily, on weekends it increases a bit and in summer you notice the number of distant relatives who come to enjoy the town and its origins.
Finally, I would say that it remains an aging town of Castile, where there is a slight increase in young people settling, and there is also a considerable increase in births; we still do not have our own school since it closed several years ago.
I finish this sketch of the place with the monetary weight bearing most on the town; being rental, the hill for partridge hunting, and on the lands and fields in general for grazing of sheep.

Juan, 23/12/2025.
Juan, Nen, Nele.., janin, ...that's what they call me; Juanchiolo, Cholo and as I grow older I am also señor, never Juanito!! I was born in León, I studied, I worked, at some point I got into trouble, I traveled and in general I have a good time. I swapped the city for rural life, and as a craft I trained and I am a weaver of tapestries and carpets.
And now after my youth of diverse activities I can offer a canvas of work, literal and metaphorical, to anyone who wants to participate in holistic work within a small-town framework, with lodging in a simple house of traditional structure and developing multiple creative-expansion tasks in favor of health (physical, mental and spiritual) as the highest expression of being and well-being in reflection of fullness at all times.
The treatment, as I understand it:
respectful, sincere, empathetic, unhurried, efficient, calm, assertive, pro-active, healthy, open, practical, serious, formal, clear, without mincing words, responsible, with perspective: even so,
each relationship is a world and, to avoid bad situations, basically I think it's better to adhere to the daily habits and routines of the day-to-day according to the tasks agreed to be carried out. So that each person knows well their responsibility and not, by being only a few days, skip the forms and norms that keep this project running.
Within which, the tendency toward salubrious, holistic and knowing is personal.
I offer a pleasant space, with a variety of tasks for any concern. There are several forms of accommodation (tent, room or house), and cooking for personal use.
Discretion is requested (I do not allow taking graphic documents or their distribution without specific consent, please), keeping spaces clean (preferably better than they are) and the restriction on mobile use (distractions in general) in the workshops and workplaces.
Otherwise, a quiet place with the possibility of sleeping in tent, room or house.
The power supply now is minimal; enough for lighting and charging of mobiles, flashlights, tablets and small appliances and low-consumption items.
Thanks,
23/12/2025.
