Los Tesoros de Cupisnique

It is a remote place away from crowds and the bustle. A great place to enjoy the silence and the essence of natural spaces that are still pure.

And if you want to start in the surfing world, here is a place propitious to practice it.

And if you already know how to surf, here in Puémape you will find waves of world-class quality and without crowds. And if you have never surfed, it is the right place to learn it with us.

Only recommended for travelers who seek minimalism, simplicity, and a connection with themselves and nature.

Basically it's just me in the house where I also live, and my role is to handle project management and writing.

The lifestyle we have is simple: coexisting with nature and learning to adopt eco-friendly habits. At home we do not produce waste; we manage everything as: recyclables, non-recyclables, and organic. Also, water reuse throughout the house because our community is a remote place and there is not yet a potable water system (elevated tanks in the houses).

This is an opportunity for travelers who seek to live like locals, who are open to learning ecological habits, stepping out of their comfort zone, and embracing the experience.

It was simply a wonderful experience. Kayo is a truly caring host and I immediately felt very welcome. I also found making and selling the desserts to be a great job (they taste incredibly good too). Puémape is a magical place, perfect for reconnecting with nature and escaping the fast-paced, hectic daily life. Even for beginners who want to surf, there is no better place to learn. All in all, it was a great experience, which is why I will come back in a few weeks, contrary to my original plan.

I am loving my time here in Puemape… Kayosha is so flexible and open for new ideas and always looking on how to make the experience better for the volunteer. The place is stunning it‘s a one minute walk to the beach and from the house you have a gorgeous view on the desert!! The work is exactly as advertised and you get to organize yourself alittle with the selling hours because it depends on the people on the beach of course :) All in all I really enjoyed my time here!

I had a great experience in Puemape, a sweet hostel in a quiet village between the desert and the ocean. Most of the work is baking and selling desserts, which I absolutely loved. Approaching people to sell can feel a bit uncomfortable, but I also had lovely talks with friendly people. I also cleaned rooms and sorted trash. Kayosha is a kind and very helpful boss who treats you as an equal, though he has strict household rules that require a lot of attention to detail to follow. Overall, I truly enjoyed my time in Puemape.

Had one of the best experiences here with Kayosha. Very chill work and a lot of surfing. I even decided to stay longer to go surfing with Kayosha and play some football with his friends. If you love baking, selling and surfing this is perfect for you everything is really easy and truly an amazing experience.

I enjoyed my time volunteering in Puémape. Approaching people for selling desserts can be intimidating at first but you grow with it and find yourself in nice conversations. I liked the baking the most! It's a great place for learning and improving your surfing and Kayosha has made himself a really nice home. He follows his own philosophy of living and and cares about the environment. He's strict about his rules for the place and likes sharing his opinion about you, also about aspects not connected to work. All in all, I had a great time! 🏄🏼‍♀️🐚🏖️
