Mariposario Vida de Colores
A family project 100% dedicated to butterflies. When volunteering with us you will live with and work with a family.
We have many tasks, however all of them are beautiful, from collecting butterfly eggs to feeding them, watching them hatch, releasing them and taking photos of them.
In addition we are located in a sector of Costa Rica from which it will be easy to visit many beautiful places in your free time.
We are a family project, where the family works—my mom (Jenny), my dad (José), my sister (Diana) and me (Alberto). In addition, a gardener (Don Jorge) helps us and a friend on weekends.
Working with butterflies is a very rewarding and charming activity. It is enjoyable to perform the tasks; however we have a lot to do, so the help of the volunteers is greatly appreciated by the whole team.

From day 1 you feel his warmth in the way they welcome you. Their home is very comfortable, and honestly very few families like them have such big hearts. At first I was disgusted by the worms, and in the end I ended up loving them; for me these people will be in my heart and they have become good friends.

One of the best experiences I have had in my life! Alberto is an excellent host, he has a lot of leadership and passion, and he is also super informed about everything that has to do with nature. The family welcomes you with open arms to their host and they share their love for butterflies with you. I would recommend this volunteering to anyone! I learned a lot and had a great time.

I had such an amazing and wonderful experience at the host! Everyone there was so welcoming. They went above and beyond to make sure you felt at home! I learned so much and It was such beautiful experience learning about butterflies, host plants and the local culture. They brought me to so many places around Costa Rica and I would %100 do it again!
