It was an incredible experience to spend two weeks so close to the sea, diving and learning more about corals, mangroves, and the importance of conserving these ecosystems.

The activities with the local community also made the experience even more special. I highly recommend Mulala Marine Sanctuary to anyone seeking real contact with the sea and nature.

I had high expectations about planting corals in Mozambique, and they were all met. My experience at Mulala the reserve Sanctuary was special. I really enjoyed the tasks, the close relationship with the family that runs the sanctuary (especially Amanda), the interaction with the other volunteers, and the opportunity to experience the local culture at the street markets and surrounding communities. I highly recommend this volunteer program to anyone who wants to connect to nature, contribute to make a real difference in the world, have fun and live some days in paradise.

I loved my time at Mulala - I learned to dive in Nacala (not included in fee) with an amazing instructor that Amanda coordinated with, because I was interested in the coral reef part of their projects. While I am really happy to have my dive certification now, there's definitely plenty else to do on the property also. They have a knowledgable team and you can see the impact they are trying to make and the passion they all share. Amanda and Johannes are the type to create a real sense of community, and they were really gracious hosts. I am thankful for this experience and everything I learned!
