Natsir Eco Learning Farm
We are located 8km from Makale village and surrounded by lush nature and beautiful mountains.
Here you can learn all about organic farming, and also how to harvest and process both coffee and chocolate.
We also grow ginger, turmeric, galanga, avocado, pineapple, chillies, tomatoes, dragonfruit and many other fruits and vegetables...
The local children from the surrounding villages come 3 times a week to our English and Nature school.
Even if you do not have experience in teaching, just participating and spending time with the kids will motivate and encourage their learning.
Our Eco Farm and English Nature school has so much to offer. But we also enjoy learning from our volunteers, and are always open to new ideas.
*Couples and/or pairs are preferred*
Our farm is a family run business, and consists of me Natsir, my wife Diana, my daughters Irma and Adiba, and my three sons Alwi, Ichsan and Winner.
We always try to make the volunteers feel as welcome as possible, and hopefully they will feel like part of our family.
Its a relaxed and happy environment.

This was our first volunteering experience and we had a fun time, learned about organic farming, and about the local culture. We made chocolate from scratch and learned about the health benefits of many plants. For us the best parts were experiencing the calm daily life and engaging with the friendly people at the farm and surroundings! The experience is best suited for more than 1 volunteer, as there can be many alone moments during the day (some tasks and meals). The experience would've been even better if we had more tasks planned to do. the farm's story is inspiring and special.

I spent three weeks volunteering at this the farm and the farm school such a meaningful and heartwarming experience! Three times a week I taught English and creative classes for local kids they were so curious and full of energy. Outside of classes, I helped on the farm and learned how cocoa grows and how to make real chocolate unforgettable! The host family is incredibly kind. Big hello to Irma and Adiba, and special thanks to Diana for her delicious cooking. I wish the farm good health and recovery he's doing something truly meaningful here. Thank you for this beautiful experience!

Once you arrive at Natsirs the farm-project you are part of the family and you can really feel it. the farm cares very passionately about the project and the people helping him push it forward. I would highly recommend spending time at the farm School and farm! It was a unique and wholesome experience, immersed in a local community in a rural part of Tana Toraja. the farm and his family are very welcoming and kind. This experience will be enhanced if there are other volunteers there at the same time as you. The work is manageable and you can have a lot of fun teaching English and exploring the region on your day off. You will get a private room and 3 delicious meals a day. Be prepared to see a lot of chickens!
