Natsir Eco Learning Farm

We are located 8km from Makale village and surrounded by lush nature and beautiful mountains. Here you can learn all about organic farming, and also how to harvest and process both coffee and chocolate. We also grow ginger, turmeric, galanga, avocado, pineapple, chillies, tomatoes, dragonfruit and many other fruits and vegetables... The local children from the surrounding villages come 3 times a week to our English and Nature school. Even if you do not have experience in teaching, just participating and spending time with the kids will motivate and encourage their learning. Our Eco Farm and English Nature school has so much to offer. But we also enjoy learning from our volunteers, and are always open to new ideas.

Our farm is a family run business, and consists of me Natsir, my wife Diana, my daughters Irma and Adiba, and my three sons Alwi, Ichsan and Winner. We always try to make the volunteers feel as welcome as possible, and hopefully they will feel like part of our family. Its a relaxed and happy environment.

This experience has been amazing. Natsir and his family are all great, very welcoming and nice people, you really feel like at home since the first day. The location is great too, in the heart of Toraja, surrounded by powerful nature and culture. The project is the perfect reflection of Natsir's beautiful soul; it connects the self-sustaining way of life with the importance of education. I've learnt a lot in this volunteering, highly recommend it.

It was our first volunteer with worlpackers and our experience couldnt be better. Natsir and every member of his family are amazing, they were all really kind and really took care of us. The place is so beautiful and you feel like at home, there is so much peace and silence, you just listen the animals. Natsir is very relaxed with everyday tasks and you will have a lot of free time, he is more interested in exchanging experiences. The project is very interesting and Natsir is always open to new ideas. We would love to go back and we totally recommend.

This project is absolutely amazing, you would not regret coming there.
Natsir is a special guy, committed to make his community better, especially for the youngest.. As volunteers, you will teach English to children, explore the garden learn local cultivations and finally build whatever you want just to make the place better for you and for the next people to come.
You will feel welcomed at home and real part of the family.
Absolutely recommended experience!

My best volunteering experience ever! The place is amazing and there are a lot of activities to do. One day you can collect ginger or turmeric and pell them, the other you can build some forniture or you can make chocolate and coffee. It was very satisfying learning all that things. Moreover the English teaching is only on Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoon. You will teach to children that live in Rembon community, they are really nice and willing to learn.
The host, Natsir, is very talkative and friendly, he and his family will make you feel home.
