The Experience

Helping with planting, harvesting and processing our produce. Every day is different, depending on what is needed. Sometimes it can be harvesting ginger or turmeric, other days roasting coffee or making chocolate, or just helping with the cooking etc. Helping with our English Nature school in any way possible. For example teaching the kids songs in English, doing arts and crafts or just spending time with them. We are very flexible!

One of the best experiences of my life. the farm and his family are very welcoming, and I'm grateful to have been able to help out on the farm and with the village children. I 100% recommend it if you're looking for an authentic experience.

This experience has in one word been amazing. Once you arrive at Natsirs the farm-project you are part of the family and you can really feel it. the farm cares very passionately about the project and the people helping him push it forward. Like a kid he enjoys showing you everything around his farm, like a father he cares for your well being and tells you to hati hati*

I would highly recommend spending time at the farm School and farm! It was a unique and wholesome experience, immersed in a local community in a rural part of Tana Toraja. the farm and his family are very welcoming and kind. This experience will be enhanced if there are other volunteers there at the same time as you. The work is manageable and you can have a lot of fun teaching English and exploring the region on your day off. You will get a private room and 3 delicious meals a day. Be prepared to see a lot of chickens!

Staying at the farm School is something all travellers especially those from "developed" countries must do. Truly immersed with nature and traditional lifestyle of rural Indonesia in a harmony of village and neighbours, it's something you'll not able to experience anywhere else. During my stay I had a chance to attend funeral, the most important "celebration" for people here and the biggest attraction in Tana Toraja. It's truly an amazing experience. People are extremely helpful in South Sulawesi and the farm is the most selfless individual I've ever met. All the best for future projects!

This was my first time volunteering, and it became a highlight of my trip. Mornings were spent on the farm's ecological farm, harvesting and processing coffee and turmeric. the farm loves to share his knowledge. In the afternoons, we taught English in nearby villages to enthusiastic kids, making the experience truly rewarding. An Indonesian volunteer always assisted, making teaching easier. The welcoming family provided comfortable accommodations and 3 varied meals a day, including home-grown coffee! In our free time, we explored the rich culture and stunning landscapes of Tana Toraja.
