It was a transformative and incredible experience! The tasks were more concentrated between Thursday and Sunday; I was responsible for cleaning the rooms and, on several occasions, helping to serve in the restaurant. I am very grateful to Raquel and Dona Geise for all the care and hospitality! Gratitude for this truly special experience!

I spent several days living on the riverbank on Ilha do Combu, in a stilt house surrounded by nature, with pets, monkeys and birds. My hosts were very welcoming and loving, a standout feature of this experience. I stayed in a shared room, and my role was to wash the dishes for the meals (3) at the hostel's restaurant. A new and simple, intense and affectionate experience.
It exceeded expectations 💚

Hard to put into words what life at the hostel is like. It is a deep immersion in life by the riverside. The chaos and the problems stay in the city and here peace, collaboration and lightness reign. This is how Raquel and Geisi lead this space so special. It was a privilege and a pleasure to feel that I was part of this family and could contribute to such a beautiful and unique space. The forest, the birds, the river, the dogs and the good company turn every day into magic, the kind we want to keep in memory forever. It is incredibly hard to leave! My heartfelt thanks, and I hope to return soon!

Being able to welcome people and count on the support and assistance from the hostel team is amazing. With Paula, in addition to all the commitment in carrying out the tasks, we were also very honored by her friendship! Attentive, organized, punctual, willing, flexible and proactive are some of her many skills!
It was a very special month with her presence in our home!

Raquel is an amazing, light, and welcoming person. Just like Gesy! Those were special days on Ilha do Combu and Belém that I will cherish with great affection. I will miss the stilt houses, the little animals, especially Fiapo 🤍

This hostel is simply a paradise! One of the most beautiful hostels I’ve ever had the pleasure to volunteer at, with very kind hosts, extremely flexible working hours, very relaxed tasks, total immersion in nature... in short, it was a very enjoyable volunteering experience to connect with the Amazon rainforest.
A very special thank you to Raquel and Geisy, the hosts, who were humane and kind from the very first moment! I am very grateful for all the time I spent at Olaria and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in applying for a position there!
