Origine Nomade

Origine Nomade is a simple place near the sea, surrounded by nature.

The project has just started, so you’ll be part of the first steps, helping shape it from zero. A big part is the orto (vegetable garden): we’re growing aromatic plants and seasonal vegetables, learning by doing.

Life here is basic and off-grid: water tanks, small solar setup, provided tent or you own van stay, compost toilet, simple outdoor shower.

People come for the atmosphere: calm days, hands-on work, shared meals, good conversations, and nature. The sea is a few minutes away.

This is not for everyone. It’s for people who are adaptable, independent, and enjoy simple living and building something together.

If you want to know more about the project: @originenomade

No real staff, just me, some volunteers, and sometimes friends passing by.

We build things step by step. Tasks are simple: garden work, land care, small manual projects, keeping shared spaces clean.

The vibe is relaxed but everyone takes responsibility.

You’re not here as free labor, but also not just as a guest. It works if you contribute and bring a good attitude.

Good fit if you’re independent, flexible, and okay with basic conditions.
Not a good fit if you need comfort, structure, or a fully set-up place.

I spent a week in Nomade origin, they taught me about how a self-sustaining place works, with no electricity, with solar panels
In addition to that, everyone welcomed me as if they knew me, they showed me the best beaches that no tourist would visit
Beautiful.

Had a good time here, the heat was the biggest problem because there is not much shade. Giorgio made me feel welcome when he was there, but some of the other residents just didn't really talk to the new travellers, so felt a bit isolated at times. There is not much to do at the camp but thankfully there are many beautiful beaches fairly close by.

Overall, I had a great stay in Syracuse and really appreciated the chance to experience the local lifestyle and work along with the community. The tasks were clear and manageable, the schedule was flexible, and the overall setting was very unique.
While navigating group dynamics and personal boundaries can sometimes present challenges in shared host environments, I valued the positive moments, the freedom to explore the beautiful surrounding areas, and the connections made along the way.
Thank you to the team for the hospitality and for welcoming me into your space!

Loukia was a kind and positive presence during her stay with us. She was friendly, easy to get along with, and contributed well to the community. We appreciated having her around and sharing part of the experience together. Wishing you all the best for your next adventures! 🙏
