Our hostel is located at the gates of the sierra madre in MEXICO so apart from the beautiful town the mountains surrounding it are full of treks, waterfalls, canyons and woods.
The lake nearby offers kayaking and waterskiing, there is a cave where at nightfall you can see hundreds of thousands of bats leaving to catch their meal, there is a place called the enchanted forrest, that has a lot of trails for running, trekking and mountainbiking. The town of Santiago has many old buildings so people also enjoy urban exploring here.
Our Hostel is operated by us the owners, we are a young married couple that love the outdoors and have a small natural dyes workshop in the hostel. Both of us have traveled a lot and met many people from around the world. We also have two kids that make our guests feel like home.

Excelente lugar, muy seguro, cercano a la zona metropolitana de monterrey y muy tranquilo. La gente local de Santiago es de mente abierta.

Conocer Santiago fue muy bonito e interesante, los demás encargados del hostal fueron muy amables, respetuosos y divertidos, el lugar es tranquilo, de hecho por las mañanas se escucha el canto de las aves.
Los horarios con respecto a las tareas asignadas es muy flexible, los dormitorios; son cómodos , frescos y acogedores.
Me toco convivir con otros voluntarios en casi toda mi estancia por lo que fue más agradable.
Sin duda lo volvería a hacer.

Posada de colorés is a chill place to stay but maybe too chill and boring if you don’t have a car or any other project on your own. The tasks are exactly like the description, which is really good.
So I would recommend it if you are not alone, if you have a project to work on and/or if you have a car.

I stayed at Posada de Colores for one month and I would definitely recommend volunteering here if you are in the area. The town itself is very pretty and it's a good place to connect with the locals and improve your Spanish. The work hours were more than fair and the tasks were not difficult. I had many days off which left me with plenty of time to explore the area. Muchas gracias Armando!

Positivo: la posada bastante pintoresca, el trabajo es relajado y la cordialidad y buena vibra de Jeny y David.
Negativo: la forma tan poco cordial de comunicación de Armando a quien casi no veíamos y con quien nos tuvimos que solo comunicar por WhatsApp, la cual, casi siempre la recibíamos sin un “Buenos días”, “por favor”, “Gracias”, o peor, nos dejaba en visto cuando le consultábamos acerca de alguna eventualidad que surgía. La cocina no está equipada, no tiene lavadero, es solo un ambiente improvisado y muy desprolijo. El baño de voluntarios muy lejos de la habitación. Las bicis dañadas
