Rancho Charrua
A blue little house between Lagoa Mirim and Lagoa Mangueira, between Taim and Uruguay, 90 km BEFORE Santa Vitória do Palmar, so special that it hardly shows on the map (the place is called CURRAL ALTO)...a place of peace, but also of joy...A lot of work to do but also plenty of rest. If you want to help implement a garden, if you like construction, if you enjoy taking care of animals, horses and dogs and if you learn the language of horses or if you have a project you'd like to develop, it will be a pleasure to welcome you. I should warn: we have internet but it fluctuates, you may have to miss a class, for example. If this would get you into trouble, perhaps this isn't the ideal place for you at the moment. The facilities are very SIMPLE (ask for photos if that's a problem) and I am alone, therefore I always ask everyone to help with the basics: keep it clean and tidy, but I love cooking, so don't worry about that. Over time I learned from the other volunteers the importance of already counting on a few things: the house is in the countryside, not in the city, sometimes it can be difficult if you're not used to being alone.
More than that, surrender yourself and allow yourself to live in the present. It will be worth it.
I am quite easygoing and I think everything has its time, I value exchanges, experiences. Here the horses are for treatment, therefore do not expect to spend the day riding, but you will surely spend the day among them if you want. I hope to welcome people who want to help and create and together, a place of a lot of friendship, kindness, good care of the animals, plants, courses and know-how. Here there is a lot of work to be done mainly with house repairs (sanding walls, gathering firewood, pruning trees, making repairs, plumbing, cleaning) but MORNINGS ARE FREE because as I am alone I need this time to organize my courses, tidy my things and...contemplate. Yes, be prepared to suggest tasks and also have free time (I guarantee that it will become a transformative habit) as I am open to ideas and certainly I do not like and would not be my aim to impose any work, in other words do not expect LEADERSHIP (by the way I find it funny to have that criterion in the evaluation, we are adults and I hope everyone contributes with ideas and skills, each at their own pace, with time to walk and enjoy the place.
Note: we have a meal fee; please inquire about it so we can arrange better.
