RucaChe

We are a permaculture project focused on generating new forms of community organization and socio-economic sustainability. We aim to achieve collective sustainability by creating our own spaces and food. Directly related to permaculture, we work with bioconstruction, garden development, carpentry, food production (preserves, beer, sweets), recycling, and
other options. All in an incredible environment surrounded by the native forest offered by El Bolsón, Patagonia, Argentina.
During the winter of 2022, our house and common space were set on fire; therefore, we are looking for people who want to help us rebuild our new home.

Travelers will be able to enjoy all that Patagonia's native forests offer, learning through experiences in bioconstruction, carpentry, soil development, organic crops, harvests, preparation of medicines and natural products, craft of artisanal beverages, conflict resolution through nonviolent communication, planning through dragon dreaming, etc.

In my personal experience, during my time volunteering I had a very positive experience. I was able to learn about permaculture, gaining practical knowledge and a new way of seeing the relationship with nature. Moreover, the environment was excellent: people were very kind, always willing to help and share. Without a doubt, it was an enriching experience both personally and humanly.

The experience at the project has moved me in a surprising way; I came with no expectations about volunteering, and this has shown me other ways of living, of facing life and inhabiting with ownership and consciousness the space we live in. I came for two weeks and ended up extending the stay because I felt the time to learn everything Yani has to share was too short. It is a house full of magical beings, Zahie, her daughter, Churro, Chiflete, Shisha, and fauna—an entire cast.

Colleagues, we feel very good about Leydi; she is a warm person, she has excellent manners, and she is attentive to the requirements that arise in the space. Personally, I am very grateful for her energy in our space; she really gave us a lot of help and a lot of affection. It has been a great pleasure, and I hope you can welcome her in your spaces.

The schedule was four days of work with three days off. If we work outside, there isn't usually time to go out and explore, but the days are well balanced and there is a lot of dialogue.
Yani is warm, open, and creates an atmosphere of real closeness with group dynamics. She shares her knowledge and her entire network. She shared very valuable information and introduced me to workshops that interested me.
It was my first volunteering experience; she took me out of my comfort zone, but I felt very cared for and supported quickly, even when I got sick.
I learned a lot, and I had more fun. Thank you Yani for opening your home and your heart! ❤️

The experience in the proyeto was something wonderful, where I connected a lot with bioconstruction, which was one of the things that was taught. And besides that, I met a beautiful group where I felt very comfortable. And I want to thank Yanina, who is the one who welcomed me into her home, for the great experience and the great teachings I carry with me. I highly recommend it. Thank you

The permaculture experience at the proyeto is unique and unforgettable: living in harmony with nature, with minimal resources; participating in the mutual aid community, especially in the construction of housing for those who lost theirs in the recent fires. Yanina is a principled woman who fights for just causes and for the well-being of all. She defends her ideas with firmness, and her life reflects it. I recommend volunteering with Yanina to anyone who desires a radical, authentic, and demanding experience, but rewarding. Thank you, Yanina, for everything you taught me.
