The west coast vibes are as real as they come in Santa Cruz, and our hostel is dedicated to showing you how our town gets down! Between the great outdoors, active night-life, and friendly faces all around, you'll be sure to find a memorable time here! Located throughout 5 beautiful historic cottages in the heart of Santa Cruz. Just 1 block away from Santa Cruz's boardwalk and wharf area, as well as world-famous surf spots, the location of this hostel just can't be beat!
The hostel has occupied the cottages for 30 years but the history of the cottages dates back to the 1800s. During your stay with us you'll cross paths with surfers, bikers, backpackers, and all other sorts of travelers.

Beautiful place. Beautiful hostel. But most importantly, beautiful people. Thanks for letting me be a part of this. If you're looking to connect with people from all over the world in a stunning location surrounded by nature, don't hesitate to take on this volunteer exchange. I'm so happy I did it. I will miss you all very much 🫶 and I'll remember this experience forever. I hope our paths cross again someday!

I spent there 20 days as a volounteer. I've travelled in a lot of hostel in Europe but this one is something different. Clean, cozy, friendly, lot of international travellers with incredibles stories. It was my first experience with wordpackers and could not be any better. Unforgettable experience. A special thanks to all the stuff that made you feel at home, even if you are thousand miles away from yours. Grazie a tutti!!!

It was a short but amazing stay in the hostel. Amazing location with great people and social events. Absolutely loved my stay at the Hostel. Would 100% recommend!!

This experience was one of the best memories of my life. The staff made me feel welcome from day one and created a warm, family-like atmosphere. The work was light and schedules were respected, leaving plenty of time to enjoy the hostel. I met amazing people from all over the world and made friendships I will never forget. the hostel completely stole my heart, with its beautiful beaches, sunsets, and vibrant downtown. My favorite memories are the s'mores nights, sharing laughs with new friends. I would do this experience again without hesitation.

The host and staff were incredibly welcoming and made me feel right at home, as well as part of both the hostel and the local community. I'm grateful for the opportunity to contribute through photography and some web development work during my stay. It was a fun and rewarding volunteer experience, and the staff was truly incredible — inclusive, supportive, and, best of all, fun to be around.
