In Ngegong, every smile is real, every meal is homemade, and every activity is part of our daily life. Wake up with the farmers in the rice fields, learn to cook tempe and peyek with grandmothers, play gamelan with local artists, make herbal jamu, plant vegetables with children, and help us build a greener village through simple waste-management activities.
We are growing PESONA NGEGONG, a community dream where tourism supports education, environment, and local livelihoods. Your ideas, your stories, and your kindness can inspire our children to speak English with confidence and see the world with hope.

In our village, volunteers can find:
1. friendly villagers
2. feel the warm tropical sun
3. explore and enjoy the activities in the rice fields
4. learn to make salted eggs, learn to make batik tulis, and craft handicrafts

I had a really good time volunteering here! I had fun, learned about the local culture, and everyone was super kind and attentive. I really enjoyed helping at the kindergarten, the kids are so cute! In the afternoons, I took part in different activities that introduced me to the local culture and gave me the chance to learn from them. I also got to help promote some local places. It was my first volunteering experience, and I felt really supported by the team. I loved being able to experience a different culture and a different way of life. I'm really grateful for the time I spent here!

I stayed in Madiun for two weeks and was blown away by the kindness, hospitality and grace from everybody I met here. My stay in Madiun was beautiful. I felt I have made a life long family, the school children are the sweetest and the team is lovely. The work is overall quite easy, but can be chaotic at times as sometimes you're moving from place to place as the team is trying to get you to experience everything. Thank you to Ika, Rina, Antoine and the rest of the team for making my stay so lovely, I will cherish these two weeks forever.

Volunteering at the eco village was truly one of the most enriching experiencies of my life. I arrive thinking I was coming to teach the children, but in the end, they were the ones who taught me the most. Alfi and Antoine took care of me like older brothers, always making sure I felt safe, comfortable and supported. Ika, all the teachers, and all the people of Madiun made my stay unforgettable with their generosity, love and beautiful energy This experiencie gave me so much more than I could have imagined. I leave with a full heart , incredible memories , and deep gratituted for everyone ❤️🩹

Volunteering in Madiun has been a very special experience that I will cherish forever. Not only did I teach English to young children, but learnt so much about the Javanese culture during my time here by visiting traditional markets and martial art centres, making cultural dishes and even had the chance to attend a traditional wedding. A special thank you to everyone in the village who made me feel so welcome and helped me to make the most of my time here. I feel like I have made friends for life here, and left feeling so inspired and grateful. I would recommend this experience to anyone!

We spent a week in Madiun with Anton, Alfi, Ika, and their whole staff, and it was incredible. We learned so much about Madiun and its culture, and they took amazing care of us. They are incredible people — super fun, kind, and attentive. We felt right at home and truly hope we can come back one day.
