An authentic experience is what makes our place special. The handicraft skills that use palm tree straws are typical of the region of Chenini, where only a few people are left with this knowledge. The volunteer will not only learn about the tradition but also be part of a dynamic local community in which several organizations collaborate in the goal to preserve the Oasis as well as the local traditions.
I am a former AIESEC member who is fond of traveling and cultural exchange. As a mother, welcoming volunteers is a great way to meet travelers from all around the world while looking after my family. Any volunteer will find a likeminded spirit and will be welcomed within the community for an immersive authentic experience.

I had the most amazing time with the sweetest host!! I really recommend this experience and Soumaya is incredible and lovely! I got to emmerse myself into a new culture, learn about a different way of living, religion, economy and environment. I'm so grateful for having been able to go here

My two weeks of volunteering at She is The Goal could not have been better. I met wonderful people: Soumaya, a beautiful soul with a lot of vitality, the women of the association, who are charming and I had a very special connection with them and the collaborators and the French volunteers with whom I shared many plans. I was able to practice languages with all of them. My mission was related to digital marketing in order to publicize the work of women. I saw amazing places in Gabès, learned a new culture and I felt loved at all times. A part of my heart stays here forever ❤️

Words won't do justice to how I feel yet what I've experienced thanks to my awe-inspiring Soumaya🙌
It was such a heartfilling one for the books, It taught me discipline but above all fuelled my sense of being a peoples person (as it's all about the poeple for the people there, or if I may say so that it's she for her which gives the utter sense to she's the goal) 🙏
Been also blessed by a loving hosting family, alongside caring other soldiers (volunteers, locals yet people from all over the world), needless to say Soumaya's thoughtfulness.
Gotta go back soon, you're genuinely missed already🤍

I had such a great time in Gabes with Soumaya! I was hosted by a local family who were so kind and amazing all the time. Soumaya introduced me to several locals, many of which invited me to their homes for meals. And many French volunteers who were great to hang out with as well! Soumaya showed me around Gabes taking me to farms, markets, and cool spots. She was super flexible with everything and was always super helpful. I held English classes and made a ton of friends, Tunisian and French alike! It was sometimes hard to communicate with people but for the most part everything went smoothly.
