An authentic experience is what makes our place special. The handicraft skills that use palm tree straws are typical of the region of Chenini, where only a few people are left with this knowledge. The volunteer will not only learn about the tradition but also be part of a dynamic local community in which several organizations collaborate in the goal to preserve the Oasis as well as the local traditions.
I am a former AIESEC member who is fond of traveling and cultural exchange. As a mother, welcoming volunteers is a great way to meet travelers from all around the world while looking after my family.
Any volunteer will find a likeminded spirit and will be welcomed within the community for an immersive authentic experience.

Wonderful experience. The locals are very friendly and welcoming, and many of them share such an admirable social awareness. Soumaya the project a delicious person, a real fighter, and she guided me through the place, the history, the culture and the natives. I loved my time with Soumaya and her family. If you go in with zero expectations and an open mind, you'll have a wonderful time. I got to teach English lessons, meet locals, and explore the areas near Gabes. Thank you for everything!

My two weeks in Gabes were unlike anything I've ever experienced — in volunteering or in life. Soumaya took great care to understand my needs and goals, making my stay adventurous, educational, and more rewarding than I could have imagined. She introduced me to so many inspiring and talented people that Gabes the project full of, and I can't wait to return (Cinéma Fen 2026!). I've made incredible friends — many of whom have supported and guided me with generosity and care as I continue exploring beautiful Tunisia.

He's very active and ready to try something new.He's sociable and easy going.he made a huge impact in our community by being present for different cultural activities and by making a lot of promotional videos about the oasis,the artisans and the environment.

Coco is one of the most amazing person we ever met.
She came here twice and she made a huge impact.she is a very talented photographer,a smart and sociable one.she's good in solving problems and planning for events.
Everyone loves her here and still asking me about her.she shared the community with lots of activities "brainstorm, animating coffee talk, cultural events...etc)"

The most amazing experience of my life. Was meant to stay a week ended up staying three and could have been even longer. Soumaya and her family are the most generous and fun people as the project all the other people I met in the community. I felt settled in by the first day and got stuck in with so many different opportunities; meeting interesting people, learning about the culture, creating content and getting imagery, doing talks at school ect ect. The program the project super relaxed which works perfectly if your the type of person to be up for everything and you can also cater your experience :)c ya soon
