My sister and I (Maui) started this project to reach a dream of sustainability; we learn as we go, but we have also prepared very well to undertake this journey, with knowledge in permaculture, natural medicine and biology. We promise an enriching experience with us.
Currently at the space, only Maui resides.
Mostly we are Isaac (works with us) and me, plus all the people who come and go from the land, teachers, our parents, volunteers and friends. By staying with us we create a bond of friendship and respect.
We can offer you a shared room; it is for 3 volunteers at the same time, you need comfortable clothes to work, for cold, heat and rain.
If you want more privacy and your own space you can bring your own tent but it must be strictly rainproof.
We work in different aspects that integrate permaculture, mainly bioconstruction.
We offer 3 meals during the day plus fruit and water. On weekends or if we leave the ranch meals are on your account, unless otherwise indicated. You can use oil and spices to cook but on weekends we usually don't have much food, it's better to bring some ingredients.
Also we would appreciate help in the kitchen; if you like cooking this could be one of your main tasks, more than field work.
Regarding the news about Colima, we have lived here for almost 5 years and never felt in danger nor have we witnessed any crime. Being a very small state, any act of violence is very noticeable and that is why it is considered "dangerous".
Our family is from Colima and has never suffered from crime.
Also we are located in a very remote area from the city, where everyone knows each other and nothing ever happens, so consider this if you have doubts about safety.
For the month of August we are looking for a couple or individuals who feel comfortable staying alone at the ranch, preferably who have a driver's license and know how to drive an automatic car. I will travel for 15 days and we need someone who can take care of our animals, the space and occasionally clean the cabins we rent.
3 to 6 month stay: we are looking for people with experience in countryside living who are interested in being part of our activities. These may include maintenance and cleaning of our bungalows, natural building projects, and work in the vegetable garden. We are also open to creating projects related to skills you may already have. Couples are welcome. A driver’s license is preferred.
