The cottage

I would hope anyvolunteer would like to come here to live rural lifestyle near a beach somewhere quiet peaceful and calm.. personally I think it would suit people who are artistic who like to maybe write or draw or paint or even try their hands at crafts as I have a huge amount of different tools and materials around.. I also believe that people are missing the beauty of this area by not having a chance to live here and explore and I'm always happy to take guests around Connemara in the less traveled areas so they can see as much as possible. Please please don't come here expecting me to be your mother and father combined.. I had one guest who thought I owed them 24/7 attention and to drive them around everywhere. If you are a city person and you really think you can handle the remote country life it's not my fault if you can't... if I am to be able to afford to host and feed people I also need to work...

I myself am an avid traveler,, I spend a lot of the winter months in Europe traveling around in my camper.. sometimes up to four or five months at a time.. so volunteering here would be springtime summer time when the weather is a bit better. I have lived in Asia I have spent a while living in North Africa and in East Europe I have been to every country in Europe quite a few countries in Asia I worked in China for a while. I lived in the Philippines for a while I've been to a few countries in North Africa I've actually driven there from here.. so I understand that people like to travel and explore and I'm always happy to help fellow travelers. If I have time I don't mind showing people around the area.. there are times when you have to be on your own doing your own thing even wandering around the area. I will really need proper communication if someone is going to come here. Once bitten twice shy...

My experience with John was not what i expected it to be like at all. he barely included me in the daily activities he told me about over messages, he's quite mean but blames it on “how the Irish are”, and some problems came up during my stay where i offered to fix things but he didn't want to commit to anything. he made me find somewhere to stay for 6 days after a week of being there because he has to go away for “a work thing”, but then when he got back, he told me he needed to go back during the next week so he told me i needed to find somewhere to go for good. & was uncomfy living w him.

For someone who says I was mean.. I paid for your hostel. For the first week you were in Ireland...you were getting 90 euro a week as well when you were here including all your food and everything else.. and then you expect me not to work.. and you expected your 90 euro every week. Activities. Weather cancelled some fuel shortage cancelled others.. not my fault.. also never once did you ask when you were taking food whether any of it was my own personal food or not..

Johnny is a welcoming host with witty humour. He communicates well and everything was how we agreed upon. His enthusiasm about the culture will make you want to learn more and wander around the place surrounded by nature.
