Tranøy Fyr

At Tranøy Lighthouse, I want to create a sanctuary where people can give themselves permission to simply be—to enjoy the tranquility, immerse themselves in nature, and savor delicious food and drinks. When the time feels right, volunteers can take part in workshops, retreats, or meetings, and enjoy concerts that nourish the soul.

Every day, I strive to cultivate an open, inclusive, and warm-hearted atmosphere for both guests and staff. My goal is to ensure that everyone who comes here feels welcomed, inspired, and embraced by the unique spirit of Tranøy Lighthouse.

Tranøy Lighthouse provides a supportive and enriching work environment where you can thrive. We offer training to ensure you feel confident in your role. Here, you’ll be part of an inclusive and welcoming team, working on exciting and varied tasks that keep each day engaging.

Our vibrant atmosphere is enriched by the diverse community of guests we host, ranging from local visitors to regional, national, and international travelers. At Tranøy Lighthouse, every day brings new opportunities to connect, learn, and contribute to unforgettable experiences.

This experience was AMAZING! The people, the place, the world around it, it is honestly an unreal experience. I fully emerged in the life of a ‘lighthousekeeper’ (which coincidentally also is working in a cafe ;). I lived in a room on the property in a beautiful old wooden building, the work was super fair. I loved working in the kitchen, having fun with colleagues and chatting to the guests (which are all super cool). In my free time I explored the surroundings, went on walks. A big big thank you to Anne-Gry, Olena and all the others. Ha det bra!! <3

I really loved my stay in the Hotel :) the welcome and the team are really great, it’s really like being part of a family :) and the place is just magical :) I didn’t have the best weather during my stay but this allowed me to rest a bit more in a cozy place and I needed it! Regarding the activities I was really into cooking essentially as I had mentioned in my preference :) anyway I can only recommend you go there to meet everyone and enjoy the magic of the place if you love nature :) thanks again ann gry :)

My three-week volunteer experience at the hotel Lighthouse was absolutely unique and unforgettable. I adored the serene natural surroundings which granted me wonderful inner peace.More precious than the scenery were the friendships I built. It was lovely getting to know colleagues from diverse backgrounds, and saying goodbye was truly difficult. Thanks Olena, Line, Ketja Emal and all the other kind people❤️ I am deeply grateful to my host Anne-Gry.I felt honoured to be her first volunteer of the summer. She is dedicated, optimistic and warm-hearted, and I will always recall her bright laughter!🥰

My days in the hotel were short but it is surely beautiful and worth the trip. The food is quite good, and Anne-Gry is a very kind and understanding person. Unfortunately I couldn't stay as long as I had planned there due to some temporary structural issues at the place. Good for independent travelers who enjoy staying alone and don't insist on having a center/town nearby, because from the Lighthouse to the nearest village it's 3 km on foot and it's often windy/rainy. I don't recommend it if you want to be with other volunteers and if you like having a certain independence to go and come.

It was truly a dream come true. Staying at the hotel felt like stepping into another world: peaceful, surrounded by nature, and offering the chance for deep connection and simply being present. I felt fully immersed in Norwegian culture, taking part in several local events that made the experience even richer and more authentic. I was lucky enough to witness the Northern Lights on most nights I was there. Anne-Gry is amazing: kind, caring, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The connections I made are the kind you carry with you for life. This place has truly stayed in my heart.

It was such a pleasure to have Amanda at Tranøy lighthouse; you are lucky if you get her onboard. She is very helpful, she sees the tasks that has to be done, she also works good together with the team. And she is a very good sambra teacher:) I look forward to see her again at some point, do not know when, but I know and want it to happen<3
