Valls
We are a family of 5, Jordi and Aurora and our daughters, Aina, Laia and Sol. In the summer of 2018 we moved to a new country house in the countryside in the town of Valls, Tarragona province, Spain (Costa Dorada), 30 minutes by car from the beach and about an hour by car from the city of Barcelona. We come from big families and we love having people at home; in fact, there is always someone at home. A few years ago we tried house swapping with other families on intervac. Our first experiences with worldpackers have been wonderful. Jordi, I am a director and freelance editor in film and international advertising. Aurora, I am a director and teacher at a rural primary school. Aina and Laia are finishing their studies at university, Sol is in secondary school. On our farm we live with 2 dogs and 12 chickens.
We have a large property of 20,000 m2 and we are redesigning the garden; we are looking for volunteers with experience in:
- Construction of walls with stone and cement
- Harvesting almonds, carobs, olives.
- Tree pruning.
- General maintenance of the property, tree pruning, firewood management, clearing brush, collecting stones...
Care and order of the house as another family member.
We offer a family-friendly, pleasant and flexible environment. We want to learn mutually from the experience we can share, both personally and in language exchange.

From the first day I felt comfortable and at home; Aurora and Jordi were there the whole time making sure I lacked nothing, to the point of making me feel spoiled by their food and their hospitality; I hope I can return, it was a special time for me, and I learned a lot about their culture and I am very grateful to them. An experience of a lifetime that I will never forget. The Llorens family is unique, making me feel completely comfortable from the start. Aurora is incredibly caring and kind. Jordi has great stories about directing and filming, and we talked for hours with lots of laughter. Sol is a very talented musician with an amazing voice. Laia is intuitive and very kind, answering many of my questions. They have a beautiful countryside property with animals and a pool. My Spanish improved and I learned a lot about Catalan culture. I would recommend this experience without hesitation!

A very beautiful family, super kind and attentive, I immersed myself in the local culture and enjoyed some tasty Calcots with the family.
The place and the wonderful landscapes, I learned to prune olive trees and they supported me during the adaptation process and they make you part of their activities.
Living in a caravan surrounded by nature and when you go out there are always kittens or little dogs waiting for you to pet them, a 10 out of 10 routine.
A very beautiful experience that I totally recommend.

More than volunteering, it was a life-changing experience that I will carry with me forever. This family opened their home and their hearts to me, making me feel part of them from the very first day. Each member of the family is different, unique and special, and from each one I learned something that helped me grow as a human being. Sharing with them transformed the way I see the world, the relationships, and myself.
