Vinciucci

Come and experience the rural lifestyle of Sicily and immerse yourself in nature, sicilian culture, farming and become part of our family. Our home is your home and we've been welcoming volunteers from all around the world for more than 12 years now.

We are located in the countryside between Modica and Ispica in South Sicily. We are running a small bed and breakfast, with a huge organic veggie garden and several fields
of carob, olive, almonds, various fruit trees around 8ha in size.

There are two dogs (Luigi and Dana), a number of cats living with us, but outside the common house. There are also chickens giving us fresh eggs from day to day.

Here on the farm we are open-minded people, easy going, flexible, fun loving, travellers and we have 12 years of experience hosting volunteers.

We use what we can from our gardens to make jams, marmalades, bread, fresh pasta, olives, capers, and adding veggies grown from our household garden
to typical Italian/Sicilian/international dishes cooked in the kitchen by ourselves or our lovely Daria who is also the owner.

My experience at the farm was unique and unforgettable! Daria is a strong and intelligent woman who took good care of me during my stay. I felt welcomed and supported, especially when I needed help with my health. The people I met, including Helena, Gaetano, Carlo, Silvia, Carmelo, Fani, everyone was very welcoming to me and made me feel part of the community 🇮🇹❤️. I loved the cultural immersion, learning about rural life, visiting beautiful beaches, and sharing special moments, like our pizza night 😋. I'm grateful for the kindness, learning and wonderful memories I will take with me❤️

I am grateful for the experience, and the people I met. It was interesting to experience Italian life in the countryside, with all its different facets , collecting carobs, being around animals, having group dinners and eating fresh veggies and fruits! One downside was the extreme heat during my stay, as well as the lack of nearby buses, which meant that having access to a car was important for getting around and exploring the area. However, the staff, residents, and Daria, were kind enough to take me to Ispica or Modica on my days off

The place is very very hot in summer and should have better amenities for volunteers. Me and another volunteer got sick from the heat for days and then we got judged cuz we didn't work on that days. They should know people can get sick, specially if they don't have good conditions for workers. And, OBVIOUSLY, if they get sick they won't be able to work!!! I also didn't have a single day off in 10 days I was there - cuz I had to leave earlier I had planned and also had extra expenses because of that. If you're not super used to live in a very hot and dry environment, I wouldn't recommend this!

My experience at the farm was simply perfect. From the first day they made me feel at home. It is a place truly special, that I will never forget, just like all the people who make up the farm family. Daria is an extraordinary person, passionate about the arts and culture with many stories to tell, with each conversation I could learn something new and, above all, Italian. With this volunteer work I could know the true Sicilian culture, its people, its landscapes and ways of life. Thank you very much for giving me the opportunity to accompany them this month and thanks to everyone ❤️

The farm is magical. The atmosphere here is beautiful and relaxing. Staying with Daria has been a precious time to learn about life in the countryside, nature, recycling, and, above all, Italian culture. She always has the desire to tell you a thousand things and makes it possible for you to get to know the real Sicily. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Daria, for everything you give ❤️.
