Warm family
Dear traveler/travelers,
our place is close to the mountains and to the sea, but above all you must know that we are a very warm family, ready to host warm people. Who wants to learn/improve their Italian, can be sure to come in the right place!
We are two, and we have no children.
We work hard, and we need help with daily duties.
Volunteers can be 100% sure that they will be treated as family members, with care and affection. Therefore, we prefer warm volunteers, well educated and aware that all we can offer is more than we expect from them. This is not a B&B or an Hostel, where personal relationships are reduced to the minimum. We respect all the people, but we don't host influencers and video makers who wants to make videos inside our home and publish them: our privacy must be respected.

In terms of working hours and tasks, everything was as expected, and the hosts genuinely care for the volunteer. However, I felt uncomfortable preparing meals. On multiple occasions, while I was mid-recipe, I was asked if I had experience with the recipe mid-cooking. On other occasions I was told directly "that's not how you cook,". Overall, I found these ways of communicating to be somewhat disrespectful. I felt this tension most strongly with the husband. Their expectation for volunteers to prepare specific recipes in a precise way should definitely be added to their profile description.

We are absolutely astonished! It is false that we require specific recipes!\nDarío decided to prepare (without knowing them and without agreeing with us) complex Italian recipes, for the first time, trying to follow YouTube videos. Seeing him struggle, we could not help but intervene. And so he never respected our timings: we always ate with a delay of one, two or even more than two hours. We hadn't written anything before to avoid penalizing him too much, but his review deserved a reply.

This has been my fourth time with this wonderful family and every time I truly feel at home.
By now they are no longer simply hosts to me, but people I care about and who I consider friends. They have always been welcoming, kind, and available, making me feel part of the family from the very first day. I have shared with them beautiful moments, many laughs and memories that I will carry with me forever. The atmosphere in the house is authentic, serene, and full of human warmth.
I would recommend this experience to anyone who wants to live a real cultural exchange and meet special people.

Wonderful experience. I spent 8 months at their home, and I would have stayed longer, but I found a job and an apartment and moved to another city. They became my family in Italy, and I will certainly return to visit them whenever possible.

I don't have enough words to describe my experience in the house. Alessio and his wife are very nice, dedicated and generous people. It is very easy to talk to them; they are very open and cultured. I learned many things about the culture and above all I learned to speak Italian. This experience is for people who need tranquility; the pace of life is very calm. Staying for the third time with them has been such a gift. They are kind and welcoming that I truly feel at home every time I'm there. I love them, their beautiful family and sweet pets that are always affectionate. The place itself is amazing, and they are always supporting. I'm deeply grateful for all the opportunities and for the love and care I always receive from them.
