Wisdom Forest

At Wisdom Forest, we believe the best learning happens through experience. You’ll become part of a small international community, sharing daily life in the heart of the Amazon while contributing through meaningful service.

Alongside volunteering, you’ll have the opportunity to practice yoga, explore its traditional roots and philosophy, and discover practices that encourage greater awareness, gratitude, and connection. You’ll also learn practical skills through working with nature, food production, permaculture, and different projects around Wisdom Forest, with opportunities to support social and community initiatives with local Kichwa communities.

Our hope is that you leave with more than memories—new friendships, practical skills, fresh perspectives, and a deeper connection with yourself, others, and the natural world.

At Wisdom Forest, we’re a small, multicultural team made up of Ecuadorians, Colombians, and members of the local Kichwa community, all working together to care for the land and welcome visitors. As a volunteer, you’ll work alongside us, learn from different cultures and experiences, and become part of a warm, supportive community where kindness, collaboration, and personal growth are part of everyday life.

My experience at Wisdom Forest has been great, the space is wonderful and well away from all the noise, the people who inhabit it are also very warm and although the work at times can be a bit hard, it is always very rewarding! I would recommend it without hesitation

I was one week and the Center and i was impessed everything is beautiful made. the food was always super good and the team of bhaga and the locals is friendly and welcoming. i did not feel its a very social place, but i can imagine with more volunteers there at the same time it would be more fun. i had the chance to go to bhagas english clase in tena and i enjoyed the conversations with the local kids, teenagers and adults

Wow, so so grateful to have spent a short but sweet time at the Center. A little sanctuary in the jungle, Bagha and the team were all so kind, the work was different and enjoyable everyday (making veggie sausages, kombucha, gardening, cooking, teaching English) the facilities were clean and lovely. The food was delicious and filling and of course I was able to learn a fair bit of Spanish. We also had the opportunity to see a lot of the surrounding area in Tena. I would have loved to have stayed much longer. Thankyou so much
