The Experience

Hi lovely people of our Mother Earth 🌍💛, We are a Belgian–Turkish couple with a dream project! We are building a new kitchen with stone walls, and we’re also working on finishing the bathroom. Soon, we will start planting our garden as well. The help varies from carrying stones, mixing lime and sand to make mortar, preparing garden beds and planting, and sometimes playing with our lovely son, Kaya, who is 5 years old (as of November 2025)💫

My time and experience with Demet & Kaya and Pierre was just unforgettable. To me, it wasn't just a volunteership but a beginning of a long term friendship (hopefully).I believe that Demet's warm and welcoming personality and Kaya's incredible fun soul will be your best outcome about volunteering with them as well. I'm just so happy to know them, not just cuz i had a lifetime friend and nephew but also; i learnt a lot about sustainabile life practises by hearth. And thanks to this experience, i know there are more ways to live in our beautiful earth than a regular path :)

We had a great time at Pierre's and Demet's place. The days were filled with beautiful walks/hikes through the nature. They are friendly and open people, communication was easy and we had lots of freetime besides the work. We slept outside and had a roof over our head. It's very fulfilling to see how the projects progress through your own hands. It's very fulfilling to see the projects progress through your own hands.
