It was a fantastic experience. The whole family is lovely, and you really feel comfortable and at home in this hostel. It's quiet yet sociable, and the hostel neighborhood is amazing. The work is well-organized and not exhausting. And the cats are adorable 😻😸 I miss them all. My only concern was the work schedule, which was given to us the night before, making it impossible to schedule my Spanish classes. But if you don't have any commitments, then I totally recommend volontering at the hostel 💯

Thanks to the whole family for my time at your hostel! In this volunteer position I practiced my Spanish, met a lot of people, and still had plenty of time to explore the hostel (an awesome neighborhood in Lima) the work consisted of helping with breakfast, changing beds, and cleaning. This was my first time volunteering at a hostel and I had a great experience! Thank you all :)

Warm, welcoming family. They really do live there full time. Even the grandparents drop by. No children, just cats. Cleaned daily. Lots of full bathrooms with individual water heaters on every shower. Comfortable mattresses and sheets. Little lockers. There's a roof terrace and a ground floor dining reception area. Also a true dining room. No pests. Nice area, lots of restaurants, some parks and murals. Walking distance to Miraflores, the cliffs, the bridges, some rocky beaches about 30 mins walk. Plaza Vea El Cortijo has a supermarket and Multired (no fee) ATM. Lavandería Sagita nearby.

By the last week of my stay (3 weeks total) I felt like a competent and respected member of the housekeeping staff. However, the initial period was strange. I was placed on a top bunk of a rickety bed, in a room with two sick guests (yes, I got sick) instead of a room with other volunteers. There was no scheduling in advance, this was a challenge. There were a few organisational issues. I learned that the usual management team was absent, so I understood the difficulty. And could sense the stress. Overall, generally positive experience; vital for developing Spanish, initiative and character.
