The team at the hostel is welcoming. The work is fair and as agreed. The shifts are 5hours, but you don't realise it too much as there's always something to do. For me, it's well worth in order to have 4 full days off. The facilities and beds are clean and comfortable. I appreciated the fact that the kitchen has many tupperwares to store your cooked food, that was a pleasant surprise.

I loved my time at the hostel. The location of the Hostel was perfect, everything you need is reachable by foot. You also have the Ohori Park exactly at your doorstep! Jiwan always made sure everyone is okay with the work and made no stress or pressure. I enjoyed staying there and talking to all the kind full time staff, the work was doable and if you had to work a little longer Jiwan made sure you get it off on other days. I can only recommend this place to anyone who want to immerge into the local culture, wants to meet travelers or just improve his japanese. 10/10

My stay at the hostel was overall wonderful. Even though it was my first volunteering experience, I was welcomed into a team full of nice people who helped me learn and in any way they could. Overall, I would recommend the hostel to everyone wanting to volunteer at a hostel, with its perfect location next to Ohori park and clean but cozy environment it was the perfect match for me :)

This host has a lot of experience in training and working with free accommodation staff. Everyone is nice and welcoming. You will settle in smoothly and really feel at home there.
I mainly worked on cleaning and bed-making. The instructions are communicated clearly and easy to follow. Besides that, they are flexible in arranging your working shifts if you need specific rest day for your own adventure.
You also get a discount at events organised by the hostel. They are all good chance to interact with locals, meet other travellers, and immerse in the local culture.

The hostel is a great hostel, located right next to Ohori Park and right outside a metro station so getting there is very easy and exploring the city from it is as well. The beds are pretty comfortable, and the option to take the bigger pod-style bed, which is almost a mini room with a curtain instead of a door, is nice. The staff are all fantastic and there are always events going on which as a volunteer you will often have free entry to. The workload is high however, and the work is pretty demanding. Overall, I think it's a pretty good place to work and stay if you want to explore Fukuoka.
