The Experience

Help us at Coco Drift Hostel, a chilled backpacker hostel near Hiriketiya Beach, Turtle Point, and Dikwella Beach. Tasks include light cleaning, guest interaction, front desk help, and social media content. In return, we offer a free bunk bed in an air-conditioned dorm with a comfy mattress, time to surf, explore beaches, and enjoy real island vibes in Sri Lanka.

The host was okay overall, but there was some disorganization in managing tasks and time. The room had insects, although the air conditioning was a plus. The days off were not as described, and there was no clear schedule, so I organized tasks for myself and the other volunteers. There was also an uncomfortable situation involving one of the owner's friends in the volunteers' room. Overall, it was neither the best nor the worst experience. I learned a lot, met good friends, and enjoyed my time in Hiriketiya.
