We had a great time volunteering at the shelter. María and her family made us feel at home, it's inspiring to see their commitment to saving the endangered Pudu population Our day-to-day tasks: feeding the animals (pudus, goats, alpacas, chickens…), raking dead leaves in the enclosures, maintaining the small vineyard… The tasks varied a lot and we never got bored! In our free time, we had the option to use the hot tubs, swim/kayak in the lake, hand-feed the animals, go horse riding, or look at the stars at night If you love animals and nature, this is the experience for you!

I had a wonderful time at the shelter. Maria Julieth, her family and the whole the shelter team were so welcoming and passionate about their work. The property was beautiful with lots of Pudus, horses, birds and dogs to care for. Work shifts were flexible and met my expectations. It is about 20min drive from the nearest town of Cauquenes. There is a lovely lake you can sit by as well as hot tubs and horse riding to fill your spare time. There is private accomodation with your own bathroom and kitchen I would recommend for anyone wanting to meet Pudus and explore Chile's nature

Volunteering at the refuge was to be part of a very beautiful project! The volunteering hours were greatly respected. Just as everything indicated in the descriptions. I am eternally grateful to the team. I really enjoyed the tasks to be carried out as well as the guidance and company of the teachers who work there! The hosts are really very loving. I am enormously grateful to Maria, Juan Andrés and Simon! A family far from home. The place really is magical. The landscapes and the animals stay in my heart and in my future tattoos! I would come back!!!

We had a great time at Maria, Juan Andres and their son Simon's place. They are welcoming, keen to do things well and to continually improve the quality of the welcome. Communication is easy and open with them, and it's a pleasure to be part of their project. The work is intense, but there is something for everyone: clearing brush, gardening, construction, maintenance of the animal parks. We also got to discover many local activities; it's lively here in the summer and the horse culture is omnipresent! We traveled with our dog and it was 100% suitable! We recommend.

The refuge is a magical place, you will be able to see stars, many animals, and a native Chilean forest that is incredible. Work is done with total freedom and the atmosphere is very good, I recommend!
