The Experience

Quiet place in the mountains, ideal for those who love silence, nature and old houses. We welcome volunteers to help as needed: gardening, cooking, maintenance, DIY, building shelters, woodworking or stonework. Hikes depart from the house, a peaceful atmosphere, cultural exchanges and respect for everyone's pace.

The home is truly a place where you can connect with nature while doing everyday things, such as gardening or painting. My host was very friendly and thoughtful, helping me get to know the surroundings, local people, and making the work that had to be done feel fun. It is worth mentioning that this is a place far from big cities, so most of your free time will be spent exploring the area itself or nearby towns. Also, the work can be hard for those not used to it, but it is completely adaptable in order to everyone feels comfortable.

The setting is beautiful, local and organic food is really a real plus. However, my human experience was complicated. When I started to feel tired and push my limits after my working hours, I felt there was little communication and little empathy from Nathalie, as well as a certain distance. During a hike, I also felt ignored and not very included. For me, woofing also relies on human exchange and mutual consideration. So I preferred to leave earlier.
