We had a good time overall, but I'd recommend solo travellers think carefully about booking, especially if you don't speak Spanish.

When we arrived, the owner was away and communication with Maia was sometimes difficult. Messages were often unanswered or, at times, accusatory due to miscommunication about tasks. We also received very little orientation when we arrived, and the house wasn't particularly clean.

Shoutout to Rik, Pippa and Juliana, who really made our stay more enjoyable and included us.

Tasks included cleaning Airbnb properties, the boats and the house.

I cannot recommend this experience. The communication was non existent, the house was dirty and the atmosphere was uninviting altogether. I felt either invisible or in the way, tasks were barely explained and the work times seemed quite random. They did not expect me to work much, which is the only positive thing I have to say. After already having agreed to leave early I was woken up during the night to people screaming and slamming doors. It was very uncomfortable and the other workers/volunteers didn't do much to explain what was going on. I decided to leave on the spot then.

Our experience with Naomi was very different from what is described here. We currently have 21 five-star reviews from other volunteers, which we believe gives a more accurate picture of the experience we offer.
Naomi stayed with us for only a couple of days and decided to leave earlier than planned, which we respected. Unfortunately, it seems our project was not the right fit for her. We are sorry she felt this way, but we respectfully disagree with the general picture presented in this review.

I had a fun time here! I would highly recommend that you speak Spanish well (I didn't and I managed ok but it would have been better if I did). The hours and tasks were as described. There's not really anything to do with sustainability so if that's what you're looking for then I wouldn't recommend. I stayed for 2 weeks and got to go out on the boat twice and had an amazing time. Thanks for having me :))

My time here was incredible, mostly because of the volunteers who were present during my stay. the home house has everything you need, and you have a lot of options on how you can spend your free time. Most of the volunteers work the same hours, so it's easy to do group activities after tasks are done, which is a plus. My only thing is that it would be nice for the management team to da little more hands-on "training," as I feel like we were thrown into doing tasks that we didn't have a lot of experience in. I also recommend that you be able to speak some Spanish.
