The Experience

We live in the countryside of Picassent, Spain. Because of artrosis, I need help for cleaning and improving our garden. Tasks include pruning and shred the wood in small chips to spread around the garden. It involves using a shredder. Also removing weeds and stones. Gardening knowledge is a plus, but no experience is required. I’ll be there to guide you. 🌾

I felt very welcomed, respected and cared about. Sabine was very flexible with an unforeseen situation that occurred and helped me with that. The work can be tough at times (I was there in August, it was very sunny, hot and humid), but it's mostly up to how you pace yourself. Sabine was kind enough to adjust to my food preferences and also served some of her specialities (chocolate and ice-cream) along with some fruits and vegetables from the garden. Keep in mind that you have to get to Picassent to be picked up and to travel to other cities you have to bike there, which is about 5km away.

I had such a great time with Sabine and Freddy! From the first day, they were warm and welcoming, telling me to treat their home as if it were my own. The work wasn't hard, and they always made sure I was okay and doing well. Dinners were delicious and always filled with good conversation, and breakfast was always fresh and delicious. I highly recommend this stay for anyone who enjoys amazing views and wonderful people!

From the first minute, Sabine and Freddy were concerned about my arrival at the site. Among my best experiences as a volunteer on the app, they both are very attentive and they care about your well-being and making you feel comfortable in their home. I loved that they cooked me typical Belgian meals; I learned a lot.

It was a very beautiful experience. Sabine has always been very helpful. The activity to do was very simple and explained clearly. I highly recommend this project to anyone who wants to live an authentic experience, made of collaboration, respect and sharing.
