Working with this family has been an amazing experience. We really enjoyed working with a local family, as it created a very homey environment. Hector, Pame, Citlali, and Meli were all very accommodating and welcoming. They treated us very well and the work we had to do was very straight forward. Definitely recommend working with them! Also, the area the hostel is located in is very central which made exploring the city very easy.

My experience at the hostel was very interesting and I liked it a lot, since I had the opportunity to help at the hostel and at the same time work in what I wanted. There I met Citlali, Héctor, Apame and Amel, an incredible family with whom I could get along, chat and share very pleasant moments. I also met people from other countries. The place is very quiet, clean, and with a very pleasant atmosphere. I really consider it a very good place to volunteer. You learn a lot from the reception and from many other things.

Héctor and Citla welcomed me very well; the activities to be carried out were explained very well and the rotating schedules were explained very well.

I had a lovely experience at this place; Héctor, the person in charge, is kind and attentive. The hostel is quiet; it's not the kind of hostel that does many activities and that creates a sense of community with guests, which for me was fine since I wasn't looking for that, but perhaps other travelers might dislike it. In general, the schedules were respected and depending on the shift you get there is more or less to do. Since I wanted to get to know the local food, I wasn't as attentive to the meals offered. They give you what you need to prepare a simple breakfast. The place is well located to enjoy Oaxaca.
