The Experience

Hello, my name is Ambrogio and I've been working with nature for all of my life. I have a big farm in Sicily of cereal agriculture. I would like to host positive and happy people who loves nature. I’m looking for someone who can help me with the cultivation of my land in the full respect of biodiversity. I’m also looking for someone who can help with maintenance and renovation :)

The experience at the farm was great. Ambro and his family are adorable and make me feel at home. I took care mainly of the animals (sheep, donkeys, hens, dogs and cats) because in February there was not much to do in the fields. The landscape is wonderful and allows you to disconnect and immerse yourself in nature. Thanks for everything

Ro and Ambro are very good people.Ro is very kind. They will make you feel at home right away. The food was good, have breakfast, lunch and dinner as listed in the app.The landscape is beautiful and they have lovely animals (dogs, cats, sheeps, a horse, chickens and donkeys).During this season the job is very demanding. You will work from 9to12 and then from 2to5 (until is dark) recollecting olives. In the midtime and after it you also have to feed the animals. So it will be more than 5 h. In your days off you will need to leave the house because he will not allow you to stay there.

It's a good opportunity for those who want to connect with nature. The landscapes are stunning and the hosts are welcoming people. Depending on your physical condition and if there aren't other volunteers (which was our case, we were only 2), the work can get tiring and you can miss cultural exchange. The tasks were nice, but we wish they would offer more appropriate equipment for executing a few and we ended up doing a few tasks that were not written in the application. We felt we would have more free time so we decided to leave earlier, but we're grateful for everything we have learnt!

They welcomed me as part of their family. The food is delicious and being organic it is very digestive and nutritious. I read, I disconnected, on days off I went to Palermo and other towns near the sea. The farm animals are very loving. Beautiful landscapes. Highly recommended for those who like the countryside, my tasks were to take care of the sheep, feed the animals and work in the crops. I learned a lot from them. Thank you :)

It was a wonderful chance to enjoy nature and learn about Sicilian traditions and cuisine. Rosetta and Ambroggio are wonderful people, they welcome you as a part of the family and go the extra mile when it comes to helping you with anything you may need. I already miss Nina, Dick, Marieta and Gemma. They fill your days with joy 😊
