This was a very positive volunteering experience. The tasks were simple, mostly reception and cleaning, and everything was well organized. Laura, another volunteer, was amazing. She was very open and friendly, always ready to help and answer any questions, which made settling in much easier. The hostel has a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, and I felt at home from the beginning. Also, Arica is a beautiful and quiet city that's definitely worth visiting. Overall, it was a great experience, and I'd definitely recommend it to other volunteers.

I struggled at this hostel due to not being fluent in spanish. The manager doesn't speak any english and did not try to bridge this gap so i was ignored regularly and not included in volunteer activities or socialising and was separated from the group. I was also left alone within the hostel and unable to communicate with guests which was uncomfortable. The volunteer shared room had no lockers for valuables and the manager stayed up very late every night so i was un able to sleep a lot. I made the decision to leave early and the owner was extremely apologetic and promised to improve

Incredible experience at the hostel! The team is great, we feel at home and the tasks requested are really very easy. Gabriel takes great care of his volunteers, communicates and laughs a lot, and integrates us into his world for a total immersion with the Chileans. Thank you so much Gabriel for sharing, I won't forget the hostel!

The experience at the hostel was incredible, great work environment and a very homey vibe. The hosts were very attentive, and Laura is a very patient person who guides you and resolves questions regarding the duties and tasks at the hostel. It's a good place to meet new people and practice other languages, because you can form close relationships with guests.

They made me feel at home, the tasks are very easy to learn and the schedules are very fair. I highly recommend the experience 100%, you will meet a lot of people and have very fun experiences. I hope I can come back soon :)
