The Experience

In our reserve, we are building traditional houses for the Kogui families; we require people with knowledge in bioconstruction who can help install palm roofs and perform clay finishes. It is a great cultural exchange experience where you will learn ancestral weaving techniques and the handling of natural materials.

I had a wonderful time during my work exchange. The family is warm, helpful, and very understanding. They were patient whenever I struggled to follow or understand something in spanish, which I really appreciated. The work was also nicely adapted to my physical abilities. The surroundings are beautiful, and its a great place to reconnect with nature. I tried new fruits, foods, learned about some medicinal plants, and got an insight into a way of living and perspective on life that was new to me. Super interesting! It's also a great place to slow down, think and reflect.

A beautiful experience. Catalina and her wonderful family welcomed me with a lot of affection. The reservation is one of the most beautiful places I have seen in my life, with the beach and the river just a one-minute walk away. I slept in a very comfortable tent and had access to all the infrastructure. I could participate in sacred rituals and visit a Kogui community 💙 Catalina's work creating bridges with the region's indigenous communities is admirable and deserves all recognition. The girls were a fundamental and very special part of this experience. I only have recommendations! Thank you very much.

My experience at the Jaguar Bird Reserve was much more than volunteering; it was an immersion in a living territory. The rhythm of nature, family, and place invites you to slow down and to get involved for real. The daily tasks, which consist of acts of conscious observation, such as caring for the plants, animals and shared spaces, become part of a deeper learning. The most valuable thing is all the knowledge that dwells here. You learn through experience, listening and the direct connection between the territory and the people. There is authentic depth

A place of great peace, a connection with nature and an energy of love that you can feel in every detail. I was warmly welcomed by everyone, which made the experience even more special. The children are wonderful and I will treasure these memories with a lot of love in my heart.

The work of gathering flowers was light and meditative, bringing me a beautiful connection with nature. I leave here with great gratitude for everything I lived through. It was an experience that transformed me in a very subtle and true way. I just have to thank you for this opportunity
