The Experience

Help! Urgently needed someone to build a simple website using WordPress and WooCommerce at the speed of light ;) I'm a former programmer, but also a builder, traveller, welder, designer and fabricator and have just too much to do, what with volunteers coming and numerous practical projects on out here in the Swedish forest. It's for a really interesting new product for boat gear which no one else in the whole world is making! It's pioneering...

I'd absolutely recommend this experience to everyone, and I already have to all my friends! I learned more life skills in a month than in 28 years! Julian was incredibly friendly and welcoming and was the perfect teacher for me as a visual learner. He was excellent at explaining tasks and made me feel confident and capable from the get go using power tools. Can't say enough good things! Not to mention having a lovely little home all to yourself with your neighbouring cabins deep in the nature of the host forest. Lots of swimming in lakes, cycling around and enjoying lots of milk and honey!

I had a good experience staying with Julian and Lucia. I'd like to thank them both for welcoming me and making me feel comfortable during my stay. the host where I stayed had everything I needed and was a cozy place to relax after work, surrounded by the beautiful the host countryside. The work was physically demanding at times, but it was interesting and gave me the chance to learn new practical skills while helping with different projects. Overall, I'm grateful for the experience and I wish Julian and Lucia all the best with their future projects.

What an amazing experience! From the first moment, Julian made me feel comfortable, and he was a great host. There were other volunteers, and some more friends of Julian, so we had the best time and a lot of fun. We went swimming on the lakes, did bonfires, went canoing, and I even got the chance to row a boat! The work was also very entertaining (if you like using tools and learning stuff, this is the place!). I highly recommend this experience if you enjoy: being in nature, socializing, working with your hands, and have a good time! Thanks again, Julian!! I'll definitly be back!

Time flew by so quickly! Every day was so fulfilling and I had so many wonderful experiences. Everything was new to me so it was really exciting✨🤯 We went swimming in the lake and nature, had a BBQ, did puzzles, made little fireworks, and interacted with Julian's friends. Of course, I also really enjoyed using tools to make the host and thinking about the interior design. I'm so happy to have been able to participate in this volunteer work! The dogs were so cute too. I can't wait to go back! 🤗 Thank you soooo much , Julian and Ollyyyy✨🥹

Julian was a great host and was very open to including his wider network in Sweden to the experience so had plenty of opportunity to meet people from all over the world, a very social opportunity there if you're up for it and plenty of space and time to also do your own thing. It was a great place to be given the chance to try new things and also bring my own input to his projects and have those opinions and ideas considered and implemented. Would recommend to anyone wanting to escape from the rush of the world and try a different pace n style of life for sure - cheers for the experience Jules
