The Experience

In August I am looking for help preparing the winery for harvest. That will involve some cleaning tanks with the water pressure gun and the floor, plus moving bottles around, bottling some 2024, etc. This is medium intensity work mostly inside the winery. From the first week of September onwards, it's all about picking and processing the grapes. This is high intensity work where we start at 5am on pick days.

Maggie was a wonderful host from start to finish. From the very first day she made me feel welcome and comfortable in her space. Amazing food, great wine and I was introduced to so many lovely people and places in the surrounding area. The work was varied and interesting, a mix between time spent in the winery and vineyards. The hours were very well managed and Maggie communicated everything clearly whilst also respecting the expected hours. Cannot recommend this experience enough.

This was our first volunteering experience and I think we couldn't have chosen a better place. Maggie was an amazing host, she showed and recommended us beautiful places and we could turn to her any time we had a question or a problem. The work was well balanced compared to the freetime and we always sticked to what we agreed upon. I would definitely recommend volunteering with her to anyone who would like to experience life in Sicily and meet amazing people there. :)

Volunteering in Sicily was a really interesting experience for us. We learned a lot about wine making as well as the local culture. Maggie is a really good host and a fun person to be around. It was our first time volunteering and we had a great time there.
