It was a nice first volunteering experience indeed. Sofi was there for me when I needed it and we spent some quality time together as well out of the working times. The place is quiet and local as listed and described before hand and you can spend your time on the beach, biking around or surfing (better if you already know how to, or Sofi will place you to a surf school). Sao Pedro de Moel is a good spot to get around Portugal as well with their buses so if you have time you can get to Lisbon, Porto, Nazare etc quite easily. I recommend this experience by the oceanš

The guest house and the host Sofia, were overall such an amazing volunteer experience. Tasks and hours met expectations to what was discussed before hand. Sofia is very flexible and accommodating for anything having to do with the work exchange. Communication was clear and consistent. The location is absolutely amazing, the ocean and beaches are unreal. The town you stay and work in is a very local/Portuguese experience. It was truly a lovely week and Im so grateful I got to experience this. :)

Volunteering with Sofia was a lovely time. For the volunteer work, tasks are very clearly discussed within the set hours, and then you have 4 days off to enjoy an incredible coastal town. You are volunteering alone so if you're looking for a relaxing solo experience, this is a great option! I spent my free time taking a surf lesson, biking to NazarƩ, beach hopping, bodyboarding, and trying local cuisine. Sofia is a wonderful host who really cares about the volunteer's experience and is so fun to have conversation with. I already miss volunteering here!
