The Experience

We're looking for volunteer software developers to help us build, maintain, and improve our internal web applications and the tools we use every day to run our hotel, restaurant, and community services. This is a volunteer position with no pay, but a great opportunity to work on a real product, build portfolio, and be part of something meaningful. We work with modern React-based web technologies on the frontend and Node.js on the backend.

I've been blessed to have been able to help at the community. The community is so kind! During your stay you'll have fun learning Tagalog and trying all their different specialties. One thing I have to say is that I was supposed to help with the school and because of the storms the schools were closed so I had to help in different areas even though childcare/education is my specialty 😞 BUT it was still a great experience as I helped in other areas such as the usherette team who have been WONDERFUL!! In the end, I made a new family there and I am gonna miss them so much! Will be back soon

A good experience in many ways! Very hospitable and welcomed me as part of the community. Good food and lots of it. Work is fair. One thing to note is that its a large community with over 200 people, many of whom both live and work within the community. Word spreads fast and rumours can take a life of its own. Communication could also be tricky at times. Sometimes i got contradictory information from different people, and other times there seemed to be expectations that hadnt been communicated. Over all it was a good experience and im glad i got to spend a month here in the community!

I've extended my time here because it really is that good. It's cliche to say I've found “home away from home” but I really mean it. this community has poured so much love in life into me and I now have one BIG family across the world and I place I can always return to. The work is exactly as advertised, the food is yummy and the rooms are cozy and comfortable. It's close enough to convenient stores and the public transportation is so easy, so don't be intimidated by the location! If you want to really experience the culture, local food and people then come to the community!

I had such a wonderful time volunteering here! It was more than just a volunteer experience, it felt like living with a local community and becoming part of their daily life. Everyone was incredibly welcoming, and I learned so much about their culture, traditions, and way of living. The work was relaxed and enjoyable, and after trying the different teams (kitchen, barista, farm,...), you can choose the tasks you enjoy most. I really appreciated that the focus was on doing things well rather than rushing. The food was delicious and there's always a reason to celebrate and have a feast 🍽️

The community is a true heaven on Earth. I've searched my whole life for a place like this, a lesson in how to live together with compassion and harmony. The kindness here is boundless; Mam Charlene, Sir Bobby, and the whole family treat you like their own son. They look after me with such motherly warmth every single day. I came for two weeks but couldn't bear to leave, so I am extending my stay. If you want a place to contribute and be part of a real family, look no further. A massive thank you to everyone at the community for blessing my life. I found more than an experience; I found home.
